How Thunder Creek fuel trailers are built, full factory tour, so impressed might have bought one 🤔 

I'm very impressed. A small operation that is as well laid out and operated as any plant . . . and I am a retired engineer.

That was flat-out awesome. Those guys appear to have thought of everything you can add to a system. And that floor layout/process flow was one of the best I've ever seen.

Looks like a fantastic operation! And everyone looked happy. Did anyone else notice how Chad knew every single employee's name? That may not seem like a big deal but having worked in a big box hardware store (orange), starting at the bottom and eventually becoming an Operations Manager, I can tell you that it is. As an employee I was thrilled that the "Big Boss" knew my name, and as the "Big Boss" I watch employees faces light up when I called them by name.

Seeing Thunder Creeks Facility and understanding it's roots and growth reminds me strongly of the business my cousin and her husband started in South Dakota. From a dairy farm and a hobby they built an Auto Recycling business. Ultimately it grew like Thunder Creek to the point that they now lease the farmland (as much as isn't being used by the recycling business) and kept adding buildings to accommodate the growth. Today it's a first class business being run by their son who has recently joined the executive committee of the Auto Recyclers Association. Family and pride are a big part of their business as well. Their buildings are clean, well lit and organized. Automation plays a big part in the business.

I would have never thought that much work went into a fuel tank trailer. I'm impressed. Thanks for sharing.

Wow................. that was great, from the family owners, managers, and staff to the surgery like cleanliness of the Thunder Creek factory, super efficiently producing amazing stuff..... - you just got to get Gunner earning his pocket money by giving the new trailer a weekly wash and polish now .... lol! Well done Mike, and I'm sure just like Zach over at Millennial Farmer, you will have a great addition to your business for many trouble-free years to come.

As a 35+ years as a safety engineer, including, OSHA, private sector, and water district, this is one of the cleanest organized shops I’ve seen. Great job 👍😎

The plant was absolutely spotless, fume extraction outstanding in the raw material, laser tables, robotic weld station, semi automatic tacking stations paint prep and final assembly very very impressed with the product and quality control, all the keys to building a great product .

Love the fact that everything possible is made in house, the fact the axles are even American made. That is huge for serviceability, not waiting for parts on the slow boat from China. Should I need a fuel trailer in the future these guys wil be my first call.

I suggest a rolling u shaped platform rig for the last operation dragging around those steps is a hazard as well as the working off them.

Excellent engineering with cutting slots and tabs in the components to eliminating having to measure every cross member. Also a 30 minute station time works great until some oaf uses his elbow to break a safety light curtain and shuts down a robot welder. Awesome factory tour.

I have one of these. Awesome trailer that saves time and money getting fuel. We work remote in Nevada and this has been awesome. Definitely get the electric jack, don’t know how I missed it in the specs, but the manual jack sucks. They didn’t mention the security aspect but everything on that trailer locks up. You’ll be very pleased with this, Mike. That first diesel fill up hurts though. Put $3500 in mine the other day.

Need to up grade the truck to colour match. Such a positive business be a great place to work

I will have to say that is a really good looking fuel trailer. looks awsome and hella built system. I was in Pella Iowa this spring but didnt know Thunder Creek was there. Seen alot of them trailers around me but didnt know they were built that close to home to me.

My parents sold travel trailers. Their main brand was the Century. A very nice high quality RV. Sadly they are long out of business. We all learned that any product where you can not see how it is made is most likely not of high quality. This was a great start to finish plant tour! The torsion suspension is good. I would have seen if they could have used the Mor/Ryde rubber suspension system and axles. That was almost standard on the Century's. I felt it was the very best suspension system in the RV industry. It gave the trailers a fantastic ride. The difference between Mor/Ryde and leaf on rough pot holed roads was amazing. Yes, once Dad had me ride inside two 24 foot trailers to find out how each suspension system road. Mike, I would ask Thunder Creek to look into that option for the future as Mor/Ryde is still in business. They are the best in my opinion. The best deserves the best. I look forward to you getting this trailer very dirty on the future Dirt Perfect jobs!!!! A clean trailer means you are spending too much time washing and not enough moving dusty dirt!

Very cool operation and cool that’s it in Pella, Iowa. Put in a lot of Pella windows and doors in my life before landscaping started. Looks like you’ve got a solid, well built trailer for years to come. What an operation they’ve got there. No idea it would be anything close to that!

A very informative and well presented factory tour. It is impressive what they do and make, but it is also impressive of you to make such a video on your channel. We are known for building custom solutions, but a trailer like this is not available here, perhaps because of rules and legistration ( weights and hazardous goods), but for a small operation like yours this is the time saver and reduces downtimes and headaches that come with it. Only thing missing is a water pump to empty premature filled ponds🤣
