She was taken way to soon, and her career to short, but her and her music are so iconic, and endure to this day because of timberlands production. Not even a question.
@@treyvonnerobinson but they didn’t get the big break until one in a million. They were in Devante swings shadow with the basement. And we all heard those horror stories
Timbo is so ahead of his time. No one was doing the triplet sound in music before him.. it’s revolutionary if you think about it b/c it influenced Trip-Hop in the UK and trap music of today. Him, Missy, Aaliyah, Static and the whole crew were truly the dopest and all so ridiculously talented. What a time to be alive to have witness history when all of them dropped! 🔥
@@PleaseShutUpNowDudeHow do you know he didn’t start it with a different bass and add the new bass onto it later? Doesn’t mean he’s lying.. you’re talking like songs & song production don’t go through phases.
@@mademan_7624 last time I heard, Magoo was still lowkey in the music business, but behind the scenes, doing work with his production company, but that was a couple years back now.. He sounded like he wanted to remain obscure and out of the limelight...
WOW I love to hear how legendary masterpieces are developed! I had no idea Missy was a part of it like that, I definitely have a new respect for her... R.I.P. Aaliyah, you know we miss you, truly One In A Million
Timbaland, Missy, the group Playa/ Static Major, Ginuwine, Aaliyah, etc. What a dream team they had! I think Static Major needs his own documentary with the writing, peoducing and singing he contributed to the music industry 🔥👏🏾😻
Totally irrelevant to the video subject but I had Toto's Africa playing in the background and Timbaland's words somehow flowed perfectly in beat with the song. If this man wasn't made to make music, I don't know what he'd do.
My fave is “We Need A Resolution”, but One In A Million, If Your Girl Only Knew, Come Over, I Care 4 U, Hot Like Fire, and More Than A Woman aren’t too far behind.
He said the beat for Pony was seven years old. SEVEN YEARS OLD before Ginuwine got it. That song still sounds futuristic. That's why Timbo is among the best producers.
Could you imagine Pony coming out in 1990 or something, would have completely changed the landscape of R&B at that time, which was very new jack swing heavy
That is true destiny and to create a sound that many producers tried to mimic and many have failed I remember moving to VA from Jersey. I didn’t like the state
@@tamarastone141 Everything closes earlier Williamsburg. Also I was raised In Jersey so I’m use to faster pace of life. So living in that part of town in Virginia was racism and it changed outlook.
Aaliyah, Missy & Tim. One of my fav music combos. They made some awesome music together. “One In a Million” is definitely one of my favs. It inspired me to write my first song. Well the lyrics. I never put a beat to it. I would love to work with Tim & Missy on it. We’re all from the Hampton Roads area of VA. It would be cool.
Tim always embellishes the truth, he knows damn well that song wasn't 7 years old. Last time the story of Pony was told, Tim made the beat and had planned on using it as an interlude for his album and ginuwine stepped in and thought it would be a perfect fit for him. Static did his thing and boom, Pony was made. Couldn't have been more than 2 years max.
He was talking about the sound and not precisely the beat or song. What he meant was it took them 7 years to put all the elements together to create that type of sound. You have to see it more from a producer way. They spend years and years trying to find modern, different sounds that can build their own trademark in producing music. I think that's what he meant
@@mcfanrobinhood in this same video he says very specifically he spent 3 years honing the basement sound. Right before that he says the song was in the can 7 years earlier. So he's saying he made Pony in 1989. That's just 🧢.
@@lastone032085 you are exaggerating! Why couldn't it be possible. Sometimes producers keep an unfinished song for more than 20 years. Ask Jermain dupri, Mariah Carey
He definitely embellishes and def said 3 years then 7 years. But it IS possible that it was as old as 5 years considering Swing Mob was formed sometime in 1991and the record came out in '96. But yeah if you listen to Timbaland tell it he invented music 😂
I Always thought Tim missy and aaliyah could not miss legends 😎💯crazy story aaliyah knew missy and timbo were for her on the spot they were like her destiny they brought the best out in each other that's truly amazing. Aaliyah miss you pretty girl swag ❤️😎👌👀💕🇮🇪❤️💯
I'm almost certain that he's exaggerating when he said the beat for "Pony" was 7 years old before it was released. That song came out in 1996. Tim, Missy, and Ginuwine didn't get with Swing Mob until at least 1991. I'm not saying it was impossible, but Timbaland does have a history with embellishing stories.
It's really impossible for that exact beat to have been made in 1989. Look up the top 200 songs of 1989 and try to fit Pony in there sonically (i.e. Timbaland was on his attic figuring out a completely futuristic R&B sound while swingbeat like My Prerogative was charting? Just doesn't make sense.). I think he's referring to the songwriting of Pony, or the general idea of the song to have been written down or demo'd 7 years earlier. The actual production of the final beat being done in 1989 is really a far stretch.
Nobody sounds better over a Timbo beat than Aaliyah except for Missy. He a chemistry with other artists, Justin, Nelly, Ginuwine, but bby girl an Missy ride a Timbo beat like no other.
Mnahhh.... people KNOW that Timbaland is that dude. I haven't heard anybody not give him his flowers. He keeps a much lower profile than Kanye, so it's more 'out of sight, out of mind'. When his name does come up, though??? Oh, nah: people know that Tim is legendary. Missy, too. Their talent is out of this world.
That's Crazy So Technically In Actuality Pony That Record Is Really 41 years Old Because It Was Originally Created In 1982. If You Listen To Exactly What He Said When Do Your Math You'll See.
You’re meaning to tell me that Pony was created in 1990? Crazy, I always thought the beat sounded so futuristic and to think that that song/beat was made in 1990. Timbo was as legitimately ahead of his time
No disrespect to Jodeci but DeVante Swing had one of the greatest production crews of a generation in his basement and did nothing with them. They had to go out on their own to find success.
I wish idiots would stop calling Timbaland a pedophile. While he was wrong for having an attraction to Aaliyah when she was underage, I respect him for his resistance to not hurt her. Unlike R. Kelly, he didn't care about Aaliyah and treated her like property and several other little girls. To quote Joe from the film, Nymphomanic," To be born with a forbidden sexuality must be agonizing. The pedophile who manages to get through life with the shame of his desire, while never acting on it, deserves a bloody medal." Timbaland, thank you for doing the right thing and never hurting Aaliyah.
