Used your disassembly video this weekend (x2, drvr&pssngr). THANK YOU! I did not notice a "card" to this video on the disassembly video. The gaping hole on the skin of this door is a brilliant teaching tool! Whoever came up with that idea should get an monetary award for making the awsomest exhibit!
yall's tip on using a 1/2in nut driver on door window bolts was the best! works so much faster and better than the socket & ratchet we were using... thanks!
I like to use carpenters wood shims to hold the glass in place. In fact when I was in college that is how I kept my windows up because I did not have the money to fix the regulators.
thank you guys for someone on you tube showing this procedure, probably on e of the most annoying procedures to do on a 65-66 mustang, way too many adjustments to deal with.
I have a 68 and sure wish you could have posted links to all the hardware because I can’t find it all on NPD’s site. There’s so much too it’s hard to know what all I need
Great informative video and with the outside skin cut out for demonstration purposes it makes it so much easier to see what your doing. Thanks you’ve made my life easier.
Great info as always thanks ! Nice see it with hole , but alittle harder on hands & elbows when doing for real assembly lol . lov your videos big time helps !!
FYI, Found another way to hold the door glass up if you're doing this solo. Window in the "up" position. Slide two reasonable length Phillips screwdriver in two of the upper door panel holes. Rest the glass on the screwdrivers while you fish the regulator into place.
First of all, THANK YOU for the hard work of making all these videos. My dad and I have been restoring a 1968 Mustang Fastback and we have watched and used the "help" of your videos SO MUCH. Hopefully NPD treats you guys well because we have bought many things from them, based on your recommendations. We recently installed the "complete vent window assembly" and we are running into trouble with the door window hitting the "black plastic (looks like rubber in pictures but it is a plastic material)" attachment (that is located at the top of the vent window trim). It keeps the door window from going up all the way??? Have you ever ran into this? I went through this video a few times but could not find anything. Sure would appreciate any ideas? Thank you again for all the great videos.
Import guys went to super lube, I'm not surprised, LMAO that made my week y'all are awesome love the channel wish y'all could work on my 65 fastback would be cool to see on the channel
I've just reinstalled mine with new beltline weather strips and new mole skin. My glass seems to come up higher in the back, towards the quarter window and low in the front. If I look in the door I notice that the window is out of the channel. Not sure what to do with that, it doesn't seem to want roll up or down evenly. Any suggestions?
on my 67 Mustang coupe. both the driver,s and passenger,s windows will not stay rolled up all of the way. i can roll them up, but about 2 days later they have come down about 3/8 of an inch. and i have mistakenly used the white lith. grease on them. i know that you cannot see my problem , but what would you think i need to do.? your videos are awesome. thanks.
I would hazard the guess of the spring for the window issue. Not sure if you can do much about the spring. winding it one step further might be "too much". Replacement might be your only option as those are supposed to hold the glass up. Lithium grease isn't "bad" it just isn't great.
Jeff, the glass on the drivers side window sit too low on the back side when it's all the way up. I have new a regulator and scissor from NPD that I just bought and installed. I'm so frustrated because I don't know what else to do to get this to fit correctly. what am I missing?
There is a stop in the back check that. Also make sure that the rear runner is in the right spot. If you are still having problems contact me at: jford@autorestomod.com
I recommend checking the division bar weatherstrips and the stops on the door for the windows. Here is our install: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fzN6ixnK3Ro.html
I took out my windows to get the car painted inside and out my driver door windows went in without a problem but on the passenger side the vent windows holes won't line up, they're to high and if I get the window where the chrome is touching the paint all the way down they're still to high any tips?
Send some pictures to jford@autorestomod.com I'll need to see the whole door and vent installed etc. Really hard to diagnose without being able to look it over.
@@AutoRestoMod gotcha the mustang is my grandpas and turns out it was an after market door that was poorly done I went and got a spare door from another and it fit perfectly. Thankyou for the response though.
please can you make a video how to drive a mustang w the green dot c4 transmission because i am bery bery bery confused about how to make my car runs the best way possible whith out damage the transmission thanks so much for every video you do thanks.
"Green Dot" is the Mustang Slang for the '65/'66 C4. It uses a different shift pattern than the '67 on up C4. The Green Dot position is the "normal" driving position, even though it looks like it would be in 2nd gear. The shifter is labeled: P - Park R - Reverse N - Neutral White Dot - starts in 2nd gear, automatically shifts to 3rd Green Dot - runs a full shift pattern: 1st, 2nd, 3rd. L - EITHER first gear or second gear, depending on the gear you are in. You can manually shift a green dot; here's how: Start of with shifter in 'L' ... this will start in 1st gear and hold 1st. When you're ready for 2nd gear, shift to Green Dot. The tranny will shift to 2nd. Leave the shifter here until the RPM's build about another 300 RPMs, then pull the shifter back to 'L'. This will now hold it in 2nd gear (don't worry, the governer valve will not allow it to down shift). When you're ready for 3rd gear, shift to green dot again, and it will now shift into 3rd. The tricky part of shifting a green dot is knowing when to pull the shifter back to 'L'. If you do it TOO quick, it can down shift to 1st. If you're not quick enough, it will shift on into 3rd.
We have brand new doors and I swear the brackets and holes in the door itself for the vent window aren't right. We cannot get the main glass to sit right. The front part of it is literally an inch low because the vent window is in the way
Please, someone, tell me why there isn't a video showing the easy way to do this? You know what I mean? The way an assembly line worker was able to put together several hundred a shift, without pinching fingers!?
If you are doing this at home be advised that the glass does not go in this easily. They have removed the mechanics of the door latch and the various connecting rods as well as the part of the rear window guide that restricts the window from going up too far. Also they do not show how to move the regulator past the division bar inside the door;..it must be forced past it. These items make this job VERY difficult in the real world.
