Just grab the emblem hold it firmly twist it clockwise and gently pull while youre doing that. No need to remove all those screws and stuff. It's really simple
Very helpful, but..... What was the whole exercise on taking out the cover for?? I just reached through the grill and did the clips like you said, alone I might add, and it came right out. thanks!

Yea, I used dental floss and did a sawing motion behind it (There are two guide pegs so you can only go about a third of the way), Do both sides. I then started prying it with an old credit card, Once I got it up enough I put a cloth under that side then moved to the next side, then just repeat that back and fourth till you get the middle double sided tape off. It wasnt easy but if you are patient and take your time it will come out wonderfully. PM me if you want more tips.
I have seen that, There are two bolts on the back of the new bow tie correct? and you have to create larger holes so the bolt fit in, where the two side clips would go in (In my video). They are simple to install but I would recommend using my method of getting it out, because the other methods I have seen have required you to Force the bow tie off. Which ultimately can break your grill. I say Just try your best to line it up and see where the bolts are touching, mark it, then drill your holes.
You must be careful with the back. It takes some Fishing line, dental floss, or thin string of some sort and a hair dryer or heat gun on a lower setting. Also you will need some double sided tape (3M recommended). For clean up, I use "Goof-off" and a good cleaning wax. Note: Before you begin, if you plan on removing the bowtie and keeping it off, there is a chance that there are alignment posts on the back of the bowtie. This means there are hole in the trunk lid to accommodate these posts. I believe they changed it on the 2012 models and up. If you wish to reattach it you will need the double sided tape. - Take your hair dryer or heat gun and begin to warm the rear bowtie up. You should still be able to touch it but it should be pretty hot. - While its warm take your fishing line and use a sawing motion behind the emblem. Note: there are two guide studs protruding from the back of the bowtie, one in the middle and one on the right (passenger side). So you'll have to saw on both sides. - Once you have sawed all the way to the studs, you should be able to start simultaneously heating and lifting (using your line or string) the bowtie off the trunk. - After a little patients it should come free. You'll have to remove some excess OEM sticky tape from the trunk. I simply picked at it and rolled it little by little till it was all off. - Now use your "Goof-off" to remove any sticky residue that should remain. Clean the surface properly with your cleaning wax and you will be free to do with the bowtie as you please. - I chose to paint mine to match my Front bowtie and I used the Double sided 3M tape to reattach it. Just press a strip on and trim it to the shape of the bowtie using a box cutter or zacto knife.
thats total BS!! u do NOT have to remove that cover in front of radiator! do NOT do it..its a waste of time! all u need to do is use both hands feel for both clips under the Bowtie emblem and pull clips down and pull back at same time..it will be a bear but u can do it in a matter of minnuites! hope this helps
