I can simplify the trouble shooting process before you leave Illustrator. 1. Before exporting for TinkerCad, open the document info panel under the app’s Window menu. 2. Use the panel menu (aka hamburger icon) to view objects. 3. Select the objects and Illustrator will tell you how many open paths there are. 4. Quick fix to close open paths, object menu > expand paths. 5. Overlapping paths can easily be removed, pathfinder panel, panel options, check remove unfilled paths and press the divide option. 6. If lace is supposed to be one shape, select stray paths and delete them. 7. There’s a script, easily acquired, to remove overlapping points. Im not familiar with Afinity or Inkscape. There may be similar features there.

I usually create stuff in Photoshop, and then import it into Illustrator to make a .svg file to import into Fusion 360. I used to get all lines in the .svg file double, which caused a lot of problems in Fusion 360 Then I got a tip from someone that told me: when in the "tracing" menu, click on "advanced" and check the "Ignore white space" checkbox, and then save as .svg file. I can't believe how many hours this has saved me of deleting double lines, over and over again!

When you did the Intersection in Illustrator, did you also have a Union option? Because that's how I usually fix up similar problems in Inkscape - no need to do each point one by one, a Union of a shape with itself will draw a new outline that's not self-intersecting.

There is! But in order for it to work you’ll need to add a stroke, outline that stroke, and the union the lace of offset/overlapping stroke-shape, and then it works! I hope this explanation made any sense hahaha 🥰

Great concept. Great visuals. Great product! Try to be a little less verbose and repetitive. Just give it to us straight! Think if you had to edit this exact video down to 10 minutes. Would that be a better video? I love your work! Also, work on leveling the audio so it's all the same volume. :)

Thanks for the candid feedback! Really appreciate it. This time around I was trying to add more story telling elements to the video, that’s why it’s much less straightforward then some of my other videos! There is still lots to learn and improve! ☀️🙌
