My plan to break into cybersecurity is simple. In order to gain the experiences that I need first is to get an intership while getting start up certifications, at the same time working on projects to add to my resume. At this point applying for jobs is not even option.
It’s brutal out there, I was laid off in February and just now finding another job that I start next week. I have 11 years experience. Smh. Good luck to everybody grinding those apps!
@@Alexodeya6925 I tried to get in on a few contracts but I needed a clearance which I don’t have. But my new job is sponsoring me for a secret clearance.
Can you do a for entry level ppl like me going more in depth with personal projects to gain experience? Like for someone like me who is switching careers and is new new to this field and want to gain experience with personal projects
Hey Sandra, Big fan of the channel. What about Network Admin jobs? Can you get in at a junior or entry level? Are Networking jobs suffering from layoffs as well? Would you say Network Admin jobs are easier or more difficult to get than a technical Cybersecurity position (entry level)?
I know you said there are many projects out there for someone who may not have experience can find; however, I'm trying to get into GRC and I'm not sure where to go to get the practice that I could turn into a project. Any ideas?
Bravo! There are many videos on this topic, but they are merely fluff. However, you nailed it with precision. Thank you for giving us sound advice and actionable steps that will make a difference. Cheers!
Hi, Can you also talk about the IGA or PAM domain, is it a future proof path to take in? I am working as a Security Analyst focused mainly on PAM tool (Cyberark) with some certifications. Just wanted a little insight on it.
Honestly I feel like its hard to say that a specific domain is future proof, especially with new AI tooling getting launched every week, companies are always going to go for a cheaper option. The advice I’d give though is to always keep an eye out for whats next. It could be PAM right now but in 5 yrs, that could change. Go with the flow, your career doesn’t have to be all planned out now. Best of luck to you!! 🌟
Are you more into IAM with IGA & PAM as your specialty? How cool is learning CyberArk tools - is there any free trial learning one of their tools? I'm asking that because I'm looking to pivot into IAM.
@@WithSandra Thanks for that, what you said about keeping updated makes total sense specially in CyberSecurity. Will always work on keeping myself updated.
