Do the clients have to have PayPal to make payment? What if I want them to pay with card only
@websitewiz
@websitewiz 2 года назад
Hi, and thanks for your questions. On your first question, no, the client doesn't have to have an account with PayPal to make payment. They can use the guest checkout, but only if it is available in their country. And if you want them to *_only_* be able to pay with cards, and not PayPal, Pay Later options, Venmo, or alternative payment methods, you can “use the JavaScript SDK to present relevant payment buttons to your buyers,” as per the following article: developer.paypal.com/docs/checkout/standard/ I can’t code, so I can't say for certain, but this guide to setting up PayPal standard payments seems to include all the snippets you’ll need. I think the following Stack Overflow threads might also be worth checking out: stackoverflow.com/questions/64181112/how-to-show-pay-with-a-debit-or-credit-card-button-instead-of-checkout-as-gue stackoverflow.com/questions/16755125/paypal-payments-default-to-pay-with-credit-card-instead-of-loggin-in-with-a-p stackoverflow.com/questions/66187876/paypal-guest-checkout-not-available-in-certain-countries Hope this helps.

Yes you can MST. You just have to have a PayPal business account for that option to be available for your customers. Then your customers can choose to pay with a credit card without needing to have a PayPal account.

love this, but is it possible to setup the same for a download page of a pdf ebook?
@websitewiz
@websitewiz Год назад
Hi, we're glad you loved it! 😃 If you need to redirect your customers to a different page after they purchase in order to download a PDF ebook, this will only work with some server-side coding. Basically, this coding should detect if a user has paid, before the page will load for them, which includes the PAID item - in this case a PDF ebook. If you're not familiar with coding, your best bet would be to pay for a premium solution that includes a download redirect option as part of your website builder. E.g. a Wordpress plugin, or a Wix business plan etc. where it's all taken care of for you. They basically do the coding that is required for this kind of feature to work. Otherwise, you could use a PayPal 'Add to Cart' button (instead of the 'Smart' button), which includes a redirect link, as shown in this video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C-thWrCUYFs.html However, once a person knows this link, they can load it anytime and access your PDF without paying for it. The reason is because the link is not secured or coded to only load for paying customers. It's an open, public link. But it's one way to do it. It's just not secure that's all. Hope this helps!

HI, will receiving payments on the free plan work by adding other custom methods like cryptocurrencies for example? Or is PayPal the only way to bypass the upgrade wall ?
@websitewiz
@websitewiz Год назад
Hi, yes you could try adding other payment methods on a Wix free plan. PayPal is not the only way to bypass having to 'upgrade to a Wix premium plan' and still accept payments via your website. But it is the most popular platform for accepting payments online. For example, you could use Swipe instead: swipe.io/ This is not a recommendation of course, as in the end, your choice of financial processor is completely up to you as the website developer. This is just another option.

Hi Tracey, should I create one PayPal button for each product on my store? Because prices are changing. And I also don't know where should I put the Paypal button because I have many products I want to sell?
@websitewiz
@websitewiz 2 года назад
Hi Hadjer, by the sounds of it you are planning to have lots of products on your site. In this case, we recommend using a different PayPal button for your purpose, than the ones we show in this video. The buttons in this video only work with single products, not multiple products in the cart. Using the ‘Add to Cart’ button allows your customer to purchase multiple products, all within one order, streamlining the entire shopping experience for them.Therefore, we suggest using that button for your purpose instead. It is located on the same page as the ‘Smart’ button when logged into your PayPal account. You can create a custom button for each product in your store and then place each unique PayPal button next to the relevant product in your store. When the customer clicks on it, they will be re-directed to the shopping cart, where they can checkout, or choose to continue shopping. With this method, remember to include a ‘View Cart’ button in your website header so that your customer can navigate to the shopping cart easily. Hope this helps!

Hello, I'm based in Ghana and Wix doesnt give me PayPal as a payment provider due to my location. But I created a PayPal account when i was in Canada and then moved. Do you know of this method you showed work for me to receive payments from customers into my PayPal please?
@websitewiz
@websitewiz 5 месяцев назад
Using PayPal for receiving payments on your Wix site while based in Ghana, even with an account created in Canada, can be quite complex due to regional restrictions and PayPal's compliance requirements. PayPal generally requires that the account holder's use conforms to the regulatory environment of the country they are located in. If your PayPal account was created in Canada, it's associated with Canadian banking and regulatory frameworks. Using it from Ghana might lead to complications, such as account limitations or closure if PayPal determines the account usage is inconsistent with their policies or international regulations. We would suggest that you contact PayPal Support to explain your situation and seek advice on how to legally use your account from Ghana. They might provide a solution or guide you on the right steps to take to comply with their policies. Hope this helps!

Excellent video, thanks. Is there a way to enter a quantity using this method? My client is selling a single product BUT customers may want more than one.
@websitewiz
@websitewiz 2 года назад
Hi Jean, thanks for your question. Unfortunately the PayPal 'Smart' button is only for single purchases. If your client wants to offer multiples of an item they should use a different button: PayPal's ‘Add to Cart’ button. This button allows a customer to buy more than one of a product. The ‘Add to Cart’ button is located on the same page as the ‘Smart’ button of your PayPal account, as shown in the video. There is also a ‘View Cart’ button which you would place in the header of the website, that allows the customer to view their shopping cart while they’re shopping. And if you don't like the words 'Add to Cart', you have the option to upload your own button design with your own wording on it to use instead. This is an option which appears when creating the button. We are currently preparing a video tutorial on this type of button and will let you know once we've uploaded it to the channel. Hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for the question. The only reason that we know of, that leads to the buttons not showing, is that the code is incorrect. For example: 1. Not all of the code has been pasted in. 2. Some of the characters have been removed from the code, instead of just the ones that have to be removed, to change it from a sandbox version to a live version. If the code is correct, it should be visible in the Wix editor immediately. Hope this helps.

If I’m drop shipping will it work?
@websitewiz
@websitewiz Год назад
Hi, thanks for your question. No, unfortunately the buttons in this video are not designed to integrate for dropshipping. They are standalone buttons. The main dropshipping platform that works with Wix is 'Modalyst'. Please note that if you intend on using Modalyst with Wix, the minimum premium plan that works with Modalyst is the 'Business Unlimited' plan. With this plan, you can activate the integrated PayPal payment solution within your Wix account. This is a far easier setup than the buttons in the video, as well as less effort to get everything working for your dropshipping website. You'll also need an account with Modalyst which ranges from $0 - $90 / month, depending on how many products you plan to list on your website. www.modalyst.co/pricing/ Hope this helps!

Hi, the product I sell is a digital download and I was wondering if there is a way to automatically send a file once the customer has made a payment? Also, thank you very much for this video its very helpful!
@websitewiz
@websitewiz 6 месяцев назад
Hi Nate, Thanks for the compliment.💜 That's a great question. I'll have to do a blog post on this! But for now, here's a mini version and some methods you could check out: *1. E-commerce Platforms with Built-in Functionality* You could choose to use one of many e-commerce platforms like: - Shopify - WooCommerce - BigCommerce They offer *built-in support* for automatic digital product delivery. When your customer completes a payment, the system would automatically send them an email with a download link. Setting this up usually involves adding your digital product to the platform and enabling the automatic delivery feature in the settings. *2. Dedicated Digital Delivery Services* Some services specialize in selling and delivering digital goods, such as: - Gumroad - SendOwl - FetchApp These platforms handle the payment process and automatically send customers a secure link to download their purchases. They can be integrated into your website or used as a standalone sales solution. *3. Membership Site Plugins* If you're using a Content Management System (CMS) like WordPress, membership plugins, offer ways to sell digital products. For example, the following plugins can restrict access to content until payment is completed, at which point the customer gains access to the download area automatically: - MemberPress - Restrict Content Pro *4. Email Marketing Automation* Email marketing services allow you to automate email sequences. Some of them are: - Mailchimp - ConvertKit - ActiveCampaign By integrating these services with your payment system, you can set up an automation that sends an email with the digital download link as soon as a purchase is confirmed. *Recommendations:* *Secure Delivery:* Ensure the download link is secure and cannot be easily shared. Some systems generate unique, expiring links for each purchase. *Test the Process:* Before going live, thoroughly test the payment and delivery process to ensure everything works seamlessly. *Customer Support:* Even with automation, be prepared to offer support in case customers encounter issues accessing their downloads. We hope you have amazing success with this Nate!

Thank you so much this video help me a lot but I have a question like if am actually drop shipping that is I’m using printify to create my product and ship it, I connect it to Wix but don’t pay for premium on Wix, will adding this PayPal button make the payment to the site and send me my profit on the sale or all the money will be directed to my account and the product will not be made or sold? I’m actually thinking about and I don’t know
@websitewiz
@websitewiz 4 месяца назад
Hi Mademoiselle Authentique, thanks for your feedback. We're so glad you found the video helpful 💜 With regards to drop shipping, we wouldn't recommend using standalone PayPal buttons as the functionality to integrate with the process of drop shipping is inadequate. If your customer pays using this button, it will not automatically notify the manufacturer / shipper to send the product. This would need to be managed manually. For drop shipping we would recommend integrating with a dynamic, fully integrated and functional PayPal (or other) shopping cart for that type of website. Using these buttons would cost more time and effort than you would save in the long run. Hope this helps and we wish you lots of success with your drop shipping business!

@websitewiz
@websitewiz Год назад
Hi there, thanks for your suggestion. We don't really work with Big Cartel, but that said we can point you in the right direction if you want to use these standalone buttons on a Big Cartel site. The only way these buttons is to create a PAGE on your site here: my.bigcartel.com/account/design/pages Then manually enter product details such as title, description, image, etc. And then add some text or a button (as an image) to the page, and link to your PayPal button. If you're not sure how to do that, check out this video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R--p1nr9f8I.html Unfortunately you won't be able to use their 'product' system or product pages, or order stats etc. using this method. You would just be using Big Cartel as a platform, but not integrating their product database. As far as we know, you can actually have 5 products on a Big Cartel site for free, with the ability to plug in your PayPal account to those products automatically, which makes a more seamless ecommerce system, than the one we mentioned above. But this is how you would use the standalone buttons on Big Cartel. Hope this helps!

@websitewiz
@websitewiz 2 года назад
Hi Jennifer, The following article on the PayPal website covers the answer to your question, and much more, in detail: www.paypal.com/sg/webapps/mpp/ua/recpymt-full Here is the part of the article that you're asking about: "4. Payment Hold Period: All payments that you receive will be subject to an initial 30 day hold period and will be placed in a pending balance. This means that you will not have access to your funds for at least 30 days. After the initial 30 day hold period, your funds will be released to your available balance unless PayPal is holding the amounts for another reason as specified in the PayPal User Agreement, or other agreement that you have entered into with PayPal. PayPal, in its sole discretion, may determine that you are no longer subject to an initial 30 day hold period. In such an event, payments you receive into your PayPal account will appear in your available balance soon after you receive the payment. PayPal will base its decision to remove the 30 day hold period on a number of factors including but not limited to the following: the length of time you have been a PayPal customer, the type of goods or services that you sell, and the number of customer complaints that you receive." Hope this helps.

Hi Greg, we're glad this helped you a lot. If you need to redirect your customers to another page for download after they purchase, then we recommend using a different button for that. The 'Smart' button requires coding to make that work. The easiest way is to use another button that allows easy redirection. And that is PayPal's 'Buy Now' button. It's located on the same page as the ‘Smart’ button of your PayPal account, as shown in the video. PayPal also allows you to use a personalized custom image to replace their standard button design, if you prefer. This is the easiest way we have found to redirect a customer to another page after purchase. We hope this helps!

@websitewiz
@websitewiz 2 года назад
Hi Lacielou, thanks for the question, and no, you don't have to have an e-commerce premium plan to do this in Wix. There could be many reasons why it's not working. Sometimes it's you and sometimes it's everything else, but most times it's a combination of both. So, to make sure it's not everything else: 1. Switch off your computer or device 2. If it's a desktop computer, switch it off at the wall socket 3. Wait 2 minutes 4. Restart your computer or device. This won't solve every electronics problem, but you'd be surprised by how many it does. 5. Watch the video again 6. Follow the steps in the video, one by one. 7. Each time there's any change on the screen in the video, make sure what you see on your screen equals what you see on the video, and _only then_ continue with the video. 8. As long as what you see on your screen is the same as what's in the video, right up until the end of the video, you should get the same result; a PayPal button ready to accept payments on your free Wix site. 😀 9. If it's still not working 😞 it's time to contact PayPal support directly so they can work out why it's not working and provide a solution. www.paypal.com/au/smarthelp/home By the way, I *love* your channel! 💜 And I hope this helps!

Great video and thank you for sharing! Do customers have to option to add multiple items at check out with the standard Button generator. Or should I use the Standard integration so they can add several products then check out and pay?
@websitewiz
@websitewiz 2 года назад
Thanks for the compliment! 😃 Using the PayPal Smart button, customers don’t have the option to add multiple items at checkout. We recommend checking out a different button such as the “Add to Cart” button, which allows you to sell multiple items using one button. You can find this button on the same page as the PayPal Smart button, when logged into your PayPal account. But if you’re looking at a large-scale store, we would suggest going with a Wix Business plan and using the standard integration through Wix, as it’s a lot easier to set up.

Hello i run a clothing store, so how i can use this feature for my store, should i add this paypal button in each page of each product ? Pls reply know
@websitewiz
@websitewiz 5 месяцев назад
Hi Sachin, thanks for your question. Yes, you would need to add this button to each product. However, if you're running a clothing store with many products with multiple colours, sizes etc., these buttons are not an ideal solution. You'd be better off with PayPal's 'Add to Cart' button. We made a video on that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C-thWrCUYFs.html But since we made this video 2 years ago, PayPal's payment button options have changed. Therefore, today we would recommend for you to use a full service solution, like Wix, Woo Commerce etc. They integrate the payment buttons within your store and make it much easier and streamlined for an online business in the long run. Hope this helps!

You are a wonderful person. 2 questions: Do you get notifications on payment and where the money is coming from, so you can identify clients who have paid? Also, how can you change your button at a later date in Paypal? E.G: If I want to update the pricing. It doesn't seem to let you edit once created.

Hi, oh that's very nice of you to say! 😇 Thank you. Yes, PayPal will send you an email confirmation. And if you have the PayPal app on your phone, you will also get a push notification to your phone. The email includes information such as buyer name, email address, transaction amount, transaction ID and a description of the item purchased. Yes, unfortunately the PayPal Smart button doesn't get saved and so it isn't possible to "edit" the existing button. However, you can simply create a new button, with a new price, and then copy and paste the new code into your existing page in order to update it. Hope this helps! Wishing you a great day 😃

I’m inquiring about their new online orders and menu (new) features, particularly regarding payments. Can we integrate a card reader for in-person payments (for offline use)? We’ve received conflicting information from Wix support regarding whether we need a full POS system or if needing to use Wix stores to create e-commerce menus or to set up a webhook. Any insights you have on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
@websitewiz
@websitewiz 6 месяцев назад
Hi Kristopher, We haven't tried these solutions, so I can only tell you what I found out with some research. Also, I don't know exactly what your situation is, so I've discussed several usage options in my answer to you. So, please don't hold me to any of this. But it should give you a more stable place to start from than where you are at the moment. Integrating a card reader for in-person payments with Wix doesn't require a full POS system, but you have a couple of flexible options depending on your needs: *1. Wix POS Solutions:* Wix provides a mobile Point of Sale (POS) solution that allows you to take secure in-person payments on the go. This solution is ideal for businesses that operate both online and offline, such as stores, pop-ups, markets, and events. The Wix Mobile POS solution includes a compact card reader that securely accepts chip, magstripe, and contactless payments. This solution is available to users of Wix Stores, Bookings, and Events only. For the card reader to work, you must be connected to Wix Payments, and it's available for merchants in the U.S. and Canada. You would need to complete your Wix Payments verification to receive payouts www.wix.com/pos www.wix.com/pos/hardware/product-page/card-reader *2. Wix Dashboard Card Reader Solution:* Another way to use your computer as a POS system is through the Wix Dashboard Card Reader solution. This allows you to collect payments for orders placed online or for manual orders you create, which could include store products, Wix Booking services, and more. This is particularly useful if you're offering services like consultations, therapy sessions, or lessons and need to charge for these in person. This solution is currently available for merchants in the U.S. and Canada and requires the use of Wix Payments support.wix.com/en/article/wix-dashboard-card-reader-an-overview These options give you flexibility in how you want to set up in-person payment collection, whether you're selling products, services, or needing a more mobile solution for events and pop-ups. Ensure you have the necessary Wix Payments setup and consider which hardware solution suits your business needs best. You may have already read these Wix Articles, but I include them just in case you haven't: support.wix.com/en/article/enabling-point-of-sale-pos-for-wix-payments support.wix.com/en/article/wix-mobile-pos-setting-up-a-point-of-sale support.wix.com/en/article/wix-retail-pos-about-wix-pos-for-brick-and-mortar-stores Hope this helps.

@websitewiz
@websitewiz 2 года назад
Wow! Thank you Ehtisham! 😃 We're so glad that this video helped you. Yes, you can use these for products (and services). The simple, stand-alone buttons in the video have to be updated manually, one at a time, and that can be very time consuming, when anything such as the price, stock levels, colors or size options of your products change. And this is done in your PayPal account. So, just to be clear, these buttons will not work with the "Wix Stores" product integration. The greatest advantage of these PayPal buttons is that they're free, which can be the deciding factor when you're first starting out, when you have more time than money. If the site you're creating will have more than a few products, or will accept multiple currencies, or will be selling physical products that require shipping, we think a full e-commerce solution, such as "Wix Stores", would be a much better choice.

@websitewiz
@websitewiz 2 года назад
Hi Lee, Thank you for the lovely acknowledgements. We're glad you found the video helpful. 💜 On the transparency issue, it should be transparent. This though can be overridden by other software such as your website builder, or by some other kind of internal software conflict. I'd first try some simple handlings and see if they resolve the issue. 1. Do a cold restart of your computer and see if that clears the problem. Switch everything off, wait a few minutes and then turn it all back on. 2. Clear the cache. 3. Run a virus and malware scan. If these simple handlings fail to rectify the problem, I'd contact PayPal support: www.paypal.com/au/smarthelp/home Hope this helps Lee. Sorry we couldn't be more specific, but the last _'answer'_ we found about this problem, in researching it for you, was from 2011! www.paypal-community.com/t5/Selling-on-your-website/Help-with-Background-of-Button/td-p/212492

Hi, no this will not create a Wix order, as the PayPal button is separate to the Wix order system entirely. If you want to integrate PayPal with Wix Stores then you will need a paid subscription for that to work. The free alternative is just a workaround, and is therefore very simple and limited.

Excellent video. With this method can a buyer purchase the product directly with the debit/credit card without using paypal? Also, I have 100 products so will I have to do this process to each product or is there some way to copy paste it? Thank you very much for the video
@websitewiz
@websitewiz Год назад
Hi Rahul, great question! Yes the buyer can choose to use a debit/credit card without having to set up a PayPal account, if you activate this in your settings. It is called 'guest checkout'. We've made a video on how to do that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b1cFAZhAQ54.html That said, it is only available in certain regions determined by PayPal. Sometimes PayPal will require your customer to set up an account, regardless of your settings, due to security concerns they may have. The PayPal 'Smart' button is recommended for those who sell only a few products. If you have 100 products, then we recommend the ‘Add to Cart’ button for your store, which allows your customer to buy a combination of products from different categories and pages, all within one order. We've made a video on that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C-thWrCUYFs.html But that said, 100 products is a lot to manage using a manual standalone button. For so many products, you may prefer a premium solution that includes an integrated payment system as part of the platform, such as Wix, where payment buttons are all automated. This would cut out a lot of the time spent updating and adding each button to your website. If you choose to go that route, we've included our affiliate link to Wix here: paulandtracey.co/wix Hope this helps!

Great video, quick question, Can I add several buttons for several products on different pages? For example I have 3 categories and 4 products per page. Thanks in advance
@websitewiz
@websitewiz 2 года назад
Hi Nahid, yes it is possible to add several ‘Smart’ buttons for several products on different pages to your website. But the customer experience would not be as good as another button that PayPal offers. For multiple categories, we would recommended using the ‘Add to Cart’ button for your store, which allows your customer to buy a combination of products from different categories and pages, all within one order. Using the ‘Add to Cart’ button, you’re able to create a shopping cart (for multiple products) which would probably work better than the ‘Smart’ button, which is best used for single products only. This allows your customer to go back and add more products to their cart, before paying and in doing so, streamlines the entire shopping experience for them. The ‘Add to Cart’ button is located on the same page as the ‘Smart’ button of your PayPal account, as shown in the video. There is also a ‘View Cart’ button which you would place in the header of your site, that allows your customer to view their shopping cart while they’re shopping. Hope this helps!

Eligibility: In order to receive payments into your PayPal account, you must link your US bank account or Visa credit card to your PayPal account and complete PayPal’s credit card and/or bank account verification process. 2. Automatic Transfer: On a regular basis, PayPal will automatically transfer the amounts from your available PayPal Balance to your US bank account or Visa credit card. The automatic transfer will occur within the first 3 days of each month, quarter, or applicable period in the country in which you reside. There is no fee for automatic transfers to your US bank account or Visa credit card. 3. Manual Transfer and Fee: If you do not want to wait for the automatic transfer, you may manually transfer the amounts in your available PayPal balance to your US bank account or Visa credit card. Manual transfers to your Visa credit card will incur a $5.00 USD (or equivalent) fee. Manual transfers to your US bank account are free." Hope this helps.

@@websitewiz I mean on the wix account. im well versed in paypal haha thanks for the reply tho!! It's just that all these places always say oh take payments but it's always the payout your bank to actually get your dang money is the issue / goal. Of course I always enter my correct information it just takes a couple days and or this and that to get started. I wonder how wiz payouts/ transfers are and when is needed to officially collect your funds.
@websitewiz
@websitewiz 2 года назад
Hi Jennifer, I understand. Sorry about that. On Wix accounts, “your first payout can only be scheduled once your Wix Payments account is _*successfully verified*_. After receiving your first payment, it's available for payout within an average of 7 days,” as per the following Wix article: support.wix.com/en/article/receiving-your-payouts-from-wix-payments At the bottom of that article you’ll see that Wix may even keep 10% of all payments for a Reserve Fund. We haven’t had personal experience with Wix’ payment methods, as our Wix plan wasn’t a business plan, so I can’t verify anything from personal experience, so I thought that holding your money for an average of 7 days was too long. But after a little research I found out that it’s shorter than a lot of their competitors, because Wix allows you to schedule daily payments to your bank account, once that 7 or so days is over. Shopify, for example, says they pay out on the 15th and end of each month, but they delay even those payments for another 7 days beyond those two payout points. After your money is sent to your bank account, it’ll take 3-5 days to be deposited, but that’s a delay on the bank’s side and is the same no matter which website builder is handling your payments. Hope this helps a bit more than our previous answer. 😀
