You are very good at this training. Staying calm and taking your time really helps me learn. Just got a 2019 s60 and are really enjoying the features you discuss.
This was super super helpful! I've been going crazy trying to figure out how to do this and I couldn't seem to find a video, until now. Thank you so much!!
Very good and nice explanation. Thank you. And also I want to add something. This is not for you Alton, just a feedback for cardealers. Hope to see all car dealers behave nice just like as they are making a youtube video. After not buying the car most of them change their faces and attitude. Too much competition makes a bend in their behaviour pattern in a bad way and we customers are disappointed after such a "waaarrm welcome" when we first get in to the store as a "pottential buyer".
I have no 'VEHICLE MODEM INTERNET' option below Vehicle Wi-Fi Hotspot. My car is 2018 a Volvo XC60 Inscription. I bought it used last year here in Australia.
Hi, Why do you need to enable WiFi Hotspot? That is supposed to enable other devices to connect to internet through your car modem. UPDATE: Is there a list of applications availability by zone (US, EU, Asia)?
Hi, i have tried your steps but it seems when i try to download apps , it is empty i am not getting any apps anhy idea why? do i need to register my vovlo?
I tried it out and it works just great. I’m in Canada and driving to Florida in two weeks. Will it still work when I’m outside my home country? Still don’t understand who’s data plan it’s using. But, as long as it’s not mine, I’m happy.
This was helpful but I -think- you cannot install apps if you DO NOT RENEW your Volvo subscription. I just replicated all your instructions...the apps showed up for a minuted and then it seem the screen freaked out and they would now not show up on screen to be used. They show downloaded but not clickable. I have a 2017V V90 CC with about 60K miles and I refused to pay that ridiculous $750 for their dumb app.
I might be wrong, but I think it’s using Volvo On Call’s data (not AT&T). However, why would they give us this free, no limit, data when they want us to subscribe “for a fee” to AT&T (after free introductory 3 gigabytes)?
@@AltonCrawford I have the same issue. Does this require/result in having a new cell phone#? Incidentally, much of this video was out of focus to me, although the info was excellent.
I have the AT&T unlimited wifi hotspot ($20/month) subscription in my 2017 XC90 so it's always connected as soon as I turn on the car. I always thought wifi connectivity was required to download apps, but perhaps that's just for the over-the-air updates. I usually update my navi maps by USB which is much faster than downloading individual regions from the car itself.
How are you able to download updates, maps and/or apps without any connections to the internet (“no AT&T”)? Are you using your phones data plan or the dealers data?
Is there anyway to install amazon music etc without having to use your phone ? Rather than have my phone plugged in my whole journey ? Or only the radio ?
Sade - Volvo does not have a downloadable Amazon App. Pandora, Spotify, and Tunedin yes. Keep in mind, along as your phone is connected by bluetooth it streams
Hey there thanks for reply , I have ordered my Volvo and was in two minds to ring and add on the media player to turn the screen more into a tablet with the icons but it doesn’t seem like it does much difference , I hate having my phone connected as it runs down the battery and then is flat when you get to your destination so was trying to see if there was other ways to play my Apple Music or amazon music but I guess not ? I have never heard of / use pandora Spotify or tuned in I’m in the uk maybe that’s an american thing xx
