Thats a very nice way to acces files through phone but this actually leaves the pc vulnerable to anyone on the network...

How does it make PC less secure? does this activates SMB1? or if this is your own wifi network router, your PC is still safe? any workaround to this? thanks

@@danrazART hi dan, this method actually allows anyone on the same network to acces your files; unless you are connected to a public network, u are safe. Talking of a workaround, u may create a onedrive folder on ur pc, everything u save in that folder would be accessible through ur phone

That has a solution though. Just create a different user with some username and password that only yu would be knowing.

Nice Video. Is there an option if both phone and desktop are not in one LAN Network. For example Desktop is at home and I am at work place, I need to view an excel file to get some Data

I wanna set up password that means when I am accessing it from my phone as guided in your video I wanna enter user name and password instead of anonymous that means no one else should be able to access other than me. What is the user name which I should use I mean my PC name or the email which I have given while setting up the PC. I am using windows 10.

Same question here. I really don't care to have my files available to just anyone, but no matter what I put for the username/password combination, nothing works! I've tried my username, email, even real name (since it's tied to my account), nothing works! And no site anywhere seems to want to help with this. All they do is tell you how to enable sharing on the PC, but not how to actually ACCESS it! (This video is the closest I've seen, but requires having no protection...)

this may not be helpful for u rn but i had this probllem. then after searching i realised my wi-fi network (so like home wi-fi) needs to be PRIVATE. it was public. after i made it private and refreshed the app it worked. if u wanna know how to make public 1. On the right side of the taskbar, select the Wi-Fi network icon. 2. Under the name of the Wi-Fi network that you’re connected to, select Properties. 3. Under Network profile, select Public or Private. (totally didnt copy n paste that hehe)

Hi Jeff! Thanks for asking, If you have turned of password protection from Windows 10 sharing options like me then just select anonymous option on cx file explorer.

@@NYinSD yes it's happens due to your firewall @@ disable firewall from windows settings or if your firewall managing by your antivirus then you have to disable ti from there and after that try . once you have done re-enable the firewall once again .

i have already done the connection between my mi phone and my laptop. i play a movie saved at my laptop, with mi file manager at my phone. after tap at my phone for playing the movie, phone shows 'copy.......', after finish copying, movie starts playing. i notice that my phone memory increase 1.1 G, which is the sizes of the movie. how to delete the file (movie 1.1 g) from my phone ?

I put the CX explorer on my android TV and now I can play movies from a laptop without any PLEX or KODI or NFS server!!! It is awesome. But The funny thing is that CX file explorer has a difficult time playing local files!!!! on the tv at least. it is not playing when I click on the video then I have to use a mouse to click on the play button on the center. But on the network play, I just click on the video and it plays right away. but not local files on tv or on a USB attached to the tv.
