If you’re looking to achieve an indoor jungle the first place to start is with the conditions of your home. Things you will need for rapid growth in indoor plants includes a humidifier, good lighting, proper selection of plants and fertilizer. The most common reason for slow houseplant growth includes poor watering and lack of nutrients.
In order to achieve the indoor jungle look you need to ensure your humidity is above 60% and the lighting is sufficient for new leaves.
If you want to grab the same humidifier I have here check out this link: geni.us/i8Wx

Ashley is an agronomist who has had a passion for plants since she was a small child. In the long summers as a child, she would garden alongside her grandmother and it was then that she realized her love for greenery. With years of great studying, Ashley had begun her post-secondary education at the University of Saskatchewan.
At first, her second love, animals, was the career path she chose but while doing her undergrad she realized that her education would take her elsewhere. And with that, four years later she graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a bachelor’s degree in science and a major in Soil Science.
Some of Ashley’s interests are RU-vid, in which she posts informative videos about plants and gardening. The focus of Ashley’s RU-vid channel is to bring science to gardening in a way that is informative but also helpful to others learning to garden. She also talks about the importance of having your own garden and the joys of gardening indoors. Ashley continues to study plants in her free time and hopes to expand her RU-vid channel as well as her reach to up and coming gardeners.

What is your fastest growing houseplant? And which ones do you find still thrive in low light? If you want to grab the humidifier I have in this video check out this link: geni.us/i8Wx

Right now, my zebrina, blue passionflower, a type of Truncata group Schlumbergera ("christmas cactus"), codiaeum variegatum ‘Gold Dust Croton’ and turmeric (grown from organic turmeric from the grocery store) are my fastest growing plants! Not so coincidentally, all of those plants except the turmeric plant are in my bathroom with a skylight so they get plenty of humidity and sunlight. The turmeric plant is in my south-facing window.

I have 5 hanging plants and then a bunch of taller plants with shorter ones in front of them. I make sure that the taller ones are not too close together so the smaller ones in front get enough sun. And, I think my living room looks like a jungle. I tend to stay away from vining plants that are on the floor climbing upwards because I do not have a large living room. So by planting my golden pothos x2, Lipstick plant, Easter Cactus/Christmas Cactus, and my Hoya all from high up it drapes downwards. Then, taller but not super large plants on the side tables and my window table, it gives the feel of a jungle yet not so large that is harder to tend to. When a plant gets too large and doesn't fit in with my way of plantings, I take a cutting and root it. Then, when it goes into a pot I give the mother plant away. Or, if any hanging ones get too large, I will split the plant into two and give one away. Occasionally I will switch one out if there is another one that I really want. The three hanging plants that are in my window all flower, which is what I wanted so I have flowers blooming in my living room too. Since the window is south/west facing, I get blooms even in the winter. I love my living room jungle! Love your videos, keep up the great job you are doing!

I know it’s not much guys but if you’re just starting out and can’t afford a big ass humidifier yet, i used to use 2x essential oil diffusers. I know it’s no where near the same but it’s better than nothing..right?

I recently watched a video where you didn't seem to see a benefit to humic acid but now you recommend it. What did I miss? 😶

I believe that specific brand creates an ethically produced version that includes none of the problems of the regular products available.

Part two! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xGAOnyYbJJE.html Ethical sourcing is my issue. Secondly the issue is I’m not sure we actually know with 110% what humic acid is on a molecular level.

Hi, thanks for creating science based houseplant content 😊 I'd love a video on Liquid Gold Leaf fertiliser. It's very popular in the UK/EU and makes some bold claims like "fully soluble ingredients" / "makes tap water plant friendly" / "no fertiliser scorch" 🤔

Chop and prop your plants to increase numbers, or pot your rooted cuttings back with the original plant to increase fullness and volume. May need a larger pot and room to trail down or a moss pole, cedar plank, or other object to climb, readily available or make your own 😀
