I have been single intentionally for 1 year now as well. I was broken up with at the end of 2019 and and i was really upset. But then i took a look at my life and realized all throughout my 4 years of university, i was constantly from one relationship to the next. And during those 4 years i really struggled with my mental health. After the break up in 2019 i tried going on a few dates in the beginning of 2020 but then i just realized i didnt care any more. And honestly loved being a lone and in my own space, and doing whatever i wanted to do whenever i wanted to do. When you said "i am the one" i couldnt agree more. Since being single for a year, i got off my anxiety and depression meds, i am learning to love my body, i havent even touched makeup, and i havent been happier with my life. Lots of love ❤

That part when she mentioned on a scale of 1 to 10 if the level of chemistry you feel towards this person is a 9 or a 10 in the beginning, its probably going to be toxic that really clicked for me. Its so true. You want to just be comfortable with some one not crazy over them. I'm going to keep that in mind going forward

Going through a breakup at the moment BUT Im gonna watch this again when Im in a meaningful relationship just so I dont forget that I AM THE ONE.

I made the choice in 2012 to be single & celibate by choice. I spend my time volunteering, helping others, working long days to keep building my wealth portfolio, working out at the gym for that wonderful muscle burn. If I had known how good life could be, living this way, I would have done it a long time before this. Life keeps getting better.

I think if you are the "one" for yourself, than you also can be the one for your partner, and if he thinks the same he will be the "one". I had so much problems with myself& i needed to love myself and so i can enjoy everyday. Even if i am alone, the "one" ist at my side.

Pandemy or not I am happy with myself. I like to spend time just with myself. I found that being in relationship is limiting me as person.

Well said and make sense. However after been single and independent for years, I forgot how to be codependent with others. I got used to being too independent, live without a relationship and also forgot how to live with a partner. One day I met the perfect guy who is loving, caring and high compatibility with my values but he broke up with me after the honeymoon phrase and said that I was too cold, not caring or loving... I was in a very difficult time for my career/study and I didn't share much my anxiety or I dont know how much to share. Also I focused on too much my problems, stressed and neglected his feelings unintentionally. I think its essential to be happy with yourself, to love yourself but also we have to learn how to love others yet maintain an independent life.

Being single is good and hard at times

Being single is the best way in this day and age ..

So... I'm a guy and I had never watched any of your videos before. I'm trying to learn how to be comfortable with the idea of being alone because I was so needy in my last relationship and I feel like that kind of thing is just no healthy. I want to get into my next relationship as my own person who is already happy rather than expecting a relationship to somehow make my life perfect. I was skeptical of your video at first frankly, because of your valley girl-ness and your Shaggy-esque way of using "like", but honestly you've helped pointed me in the right direction. I'm glad I watched this video even if it were by chance. Thank you! ^^

I honestly cant take the risk of being in a relationship with someone who cant do some introspection and identify, analyze or communicate the things they have to work on regarding character flaws. I would only really feel optimistic about a relationship where we can both admit when we are wrong without any strings of pride or guilt or shame attached. Where we can both be real and honest and not afraid to make mistakes because there is no dynamic of who is better than who or who does more or who cares or doesnt care. Just mutual enjoyment and no fear of honesty. No expectations of perfection. Thats it i guess.

If love does not work for you then take some time off but if love never comes to your life later on then I guess stay single. Love is not perfect. If women want to get feministic then do so, it's your life, and your choice but don't blame good men who want to get married to the woman of their present dreams. If you are a woman and you had it bad in terms of relationships then the universe is telling you that love, dating, partnership, and marriage may be not for you. Find other passions such as painting, community service, etc. develop your life, and work on your excellence. I myself was very naive when I first got into guys and dating. I also have made many mistakes in my relationships... I thought that I needed someone just to feel less lost or alone in the world, but with me being single for almost a month now, I really am starting to change that little by little. I feel like I'm finally starting to heal in some places, but in other places, I still feel sad and heartbroken. I know that my heart isn't fragile, and I don't have to see myself as helpless... You said everything I know is true and what I need to do but its so sad. Iv been divorced for almost 5 years. I was married 14 year. My whole life I felt lonely. My twin died 3 days old. I'm not very smart and always been heavy set. Always felt out of place tell I feel in love with my ex husband. I had a place I felt I belong somewhere. but I was completely oblivious to the fact he cheated the whole time. Not only cheated but was abusive. I would have stayed tell His last girlfriend was the one and divorced me. We have three kids. My older two live with me full time. And I'm now 36. Dating at my age is dating the guys that got tossed away, Getting knee surgery's and on cpaps. And lots of baggage. Iv been in 4 relationships since divorce they all wanted to marry me but there is so much ptsd in me a triggers I break up with everyone of them. And the whole time I'm off and on questioning if i like them. I'm not even sure what love is. I'm better alone cause my brain doesnt worry and analyze too much. But I'm so sad. I know I need more counseling and im gonna get there it's so hard being a single mom and not having time for myself. iv broke to many hearts it's time for me to have abstinence and fix the problem.

I met my first love in 2018 and we were together for a yr and a half it ended pretty badly and I told him never to contact me again. He never did and in my mind I always thought maybe he wanted to but felt he couldn’t. I’ve been with other people since but have still yet to fall in love like with my first. In the back of my mind I still felt/feel he is the ‘one’ yday I decided to email him, this would be the first contact Since we broke up last yr. I just said despite everything that happened I hope he is well just to let him know that I’m not mad. He gave the deadest reply. So now I know he didn’t reach out all this time not because he felt he couldn’t but because he simply didn’t want to. I gave myself 9 months of me time before I carefully considered to accept another person into my life and I ended one because I wasn’t ready. I’ve done everything by the book to get over this the right way but it’s still taking a while. I hate that is is but I will continue to be patient and let go of the idea of the ‘one’

Oh I needed this! I've spent most of 2020 single doing shadow work, trying to figure out my unconscious patterns. Painful, but so liberating. I also chose Psychology as optional subject at university and I'm learning so much. I have so much love to give, but for now I'm giving it to myself, my friends and stray dogs and kittens. It's okay. Comparison to others is the hardest part, though.

So does it really give you the credibility to speak on how to be happy being single if you chose to be single for a year and if it was only one year? The people who are going to gravitate to this video or people who are chronically single for multiple years, against their will. This is the problem with everybody jumping on RU-vid thinking there’s some sort of an expert.

This actually blew my mind. I have had an ongoing list of things I want to do on dates, and I was thinking that finding the one is totally a slim chance. So I was just going to go on casual dates so I had people to do those things with. But after watching your video I went through my list and realized like 95% of it is stuff I'd be happy to do on my own so... yeah!

I'm older than most people here it seems. Had a serious boyfriend who died in 2006. Dated a man in 2008 for about 6 months. Haven't actually dated since then but still have had two men kind of break my heart. So I am both afraid of love and afraid of never having it. I am happy alone very often but still get lonely. Would like to have no desire for it at all.

In the Bible, God taught at first that Adam (the first man) should be created alone just like God in His own Image and Likeness, but after God created Adam, God realized and said, "It is not good for Adam to be alone, he needs a Suitable HELPER/PARTNER to live... which was Eve (the first woman)... And God is 100% right... Animals/Pets and material wealth are not the best Suitable Helpers/Partner of Man but what was taken from Adam's Flesh and Blood... called WOMAN, meaning "Came from Man." I thought being SINGLE is better to live in this world... but as I grow older, I realized I am wrong, I am glad I got married especially if we believe in the AFTERLIFE... unless WE put our life solely into Spiritual matters serving God as SINGLE BLESSEDNESS, that would be a meaningful life, most especially in the AFTERLIFE... Perhaps, we focus more on SELF PLEASURE/SATISFACTION, rather than sharing those things with others... "NO MAN IS AN ISLAND."... as the good old saying goes... REASONS: 1st, if we are IMMORTAL then perhaps to be single is much better, like God without a spouse but have a Son... 2nd, life is too short with an average of 70-80 years old we are dead, our bodies followed our age, for women beauty fades, for men strength fades, without experiencing love, relationship, commitment and responsibility of building our own family... 3rd, the good old sayings, "It is better to LOVE and FALL than not to love at all"... "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger," physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually... that is why God allowed us to have obstacles, hardships, and struggles in life, it is like an exercise to our body and soul... Wow I feel everything you're saying. I've just stopped a relationship were I wasn't able to express my feelings and emotions. I was constantly looking at myself (which is always good behaviour) and admitting my shortfalls were as she could never. Anyways I'm out now and even though its difficult I realise the difficulty is only the unknown. Through pain we can grow. Stay strong to everyone that is going through a difficult time, things will improve.

Myself I’m enjoying being single now 5-years and previously in two long term relationships 10-years last & 20-year marriage now I’m some what a loner and can’t wait for riding season & overnight camp-outs. You just got to be happy in your own skin and love your self and look after number one your self and enjoy each and every day as it’s our last.

I must say this is very helpful and truthful. I've lost "the love of my life" in an accident at very young age. I dated and got into another relationship, even though my 2nd relationship we share more interests and values we werent as compatible. One main reason is that I wasn't complete with myself and I haven't truly moved on from my past. Being the one for you will ultimately bring out the best in you period.

While choosing SINGLE LIFE by/thru PAID or FREE Sexual Relationship including MASTURBATION (self-pleasure) is a Sinful Immoral SINGLE life... Only thru the Sacrament of MATRIMONY (Marriage Rites) between a single hetero Man/Male and a single hetero Woman/Female (not same-sex gender called Homo), is the sexual desire/passion INSIDE the Marriage NO longer immoral or sinful in the Eyes of God, but OUTSIDE the Marriage it is still immortal or sinful called ADULTERY. Single since I was born.

you just said "I talk about it with my friends, family, etc..." you may know what it is to be single but you have no idea about what it is to be alone. being single and being actually alone are two completely different beasts.

You’re very pretty and beautiful so being single for you is great. However some of us reached 40 and feel very bitter and angry that we remained single while every other person on this planet found someone. It just sucks being single and honestly if you are not pretty I urge you to just settle with anyone you find because it is far better to be in a failing relationship than it is being completely alone. They don’t force prisoners to get married to torture them instead they put them in isolation while torments them more so than being with a bad cell mate.

When you are in your younger age, it is idealistic inspiring to be SINGLE throughout your life, but in your golden (old) age, dying in your bed, looking back, tears will fall from your eyes, and you wish you did the right thing... I have interviewed many single old people dying in their beds (mostly in the hospital) where I work, most of them are successful in life with their chosen field of careers but unanimously said, "DYING ALONE IS THE SADDEST PART OF THEIR LIFE."... and FRIENDS are nowhere to be found, but if you have a family of your own, even if your Spouse/Partner is not there for you (divorce), your own children or grandchildren will most probably by your side before you die... They unanimously said, "IF ONLY THEY CAN TURN BACK TIME."... unfortunately, SAD to say, "REGRETS ALWAYS COMES AT THE END."

Such a healthy approach. The happier you are as a single person, actually, the more balanced and attractive you are to others anyway…Being happy alone doesn’t mean alone forever unless you choose to be. Being single and happy also really helps you to set better boundaries and have higher standards. To really know yourself! Standards that actually set you up for healthy relationships. I have also chosen to be single for at least a while. It’s been a year now and it’s actually been so great! (Prior to this I was always being bombarded with guys pursuing but I didn’t feel at all that it was serving my best interests). Taking a breather is necessary! Actually, being free is pretty wonderful. Sometimes you just need to realize that your best relationship starts with the one you have with yourself! My friendships have deepened, my depression went away, my health has really improved and my standards have raised considerably since my decision to be single. And this decision isn’t just on some time limit. This is single until a partner who’s in alignment with my healthy standards shows up and where a mutual attraction exists as well as where time spent shows a consistent pattern of genuine positive relating. And it feels truly right. Magic! So being single isn’t some curse. What’s bad is just being in a constant string of unhealthy relationships just because somebody’s afraid to be alone. Not good! I finally feel like I actually know myself well enough to choose a fitting partner now.
