TUTORIAL FOR ONLY (apple) MOBILE: get the video with the audio you want, find an MP3 converter, turn it into an MP3, save it to “Files” turn on local files in Spotify, go back to files and hold down on the MP3 and drag it, search for the Spotify file, drag it on top of the Spotify file, and let go, then go back to Spotify and then check your library, there should be a local files folder, check it and your audio should be there :3
For everyone who still can’t do it, make sure the file is MP3, not waveform audio or any other. I had problems with it too, until I converted it into MP3, and then it worked perfectly.

Is anyone else here because their iPod died and now you have to figure out how to stream music like the young people do? Does anyone even know what an iPod is? 😂I lost all of my music and now have to rebuild my playlists from scrap. Am I depressed...YES! 😭I decided to see if I could duplicate my iPod playlists on Spotify, thankfully I figured it out. However, the only thing that was missing was the songs that I had found on YT, and were not available on Spotify. Adding my music to my playlist was the last and final piece of the puzzle. I am very thankful for this video. All that's left is to dedicate the time to duplicate the playlists that took me over 10 years to make😵
Everytime i try this on my mobile device it just says "If you own the song, you can sync it from your computer" none of the comments have helped with this problem and i've followed 3 different tutorials correctly.
So you can listen to songs you downloaded to your computer on spotify, but how do you get it to stay on spotify and be accessible from your account on a different device? From my phone the songs I added from local files of my computer are just grayed out and unaccessible.
I don't get offline synchronizing to work. I have clicked the download button in your video in both my phone and on my computer. Still can't listening on my phone?
This works, but I had to do a lot trouble shooting. For those having issues try the following: - on mobile device settings > local files > show audio files on this device - on mobile device settings > hide unplayable songs (not green) - both spotify desktop software and mobile software are up to date - make sure the playlist is downloaded on desktop AND mobile - restart device - must be on private wifi and not public - on mac desktop make sure under firewall settings in privacy & security you "allow" spotify access
When I go to my phone I can see them in the playlist I added them to, however they will not play and when I go to test if they work on the computer.. something pops up on my phone saying "song not downloaded, if you own the song, you can sync it from your computer" no idea what this means or how to get my songs to start playing
Okay so everything worked however i cant play the song on my phone it only works on my laptop im quite certain i followed the steps properly aswell so now im confused
Same with me . I’m also facing the same problem I uploaded my own song edits on Spotify through my pc and it’s working but through my mobile and iPad the song is not playing in any devices do we have any solution for this problem so I can share this link to my friends to listen my edits …… ???
I did everything right and added the source but when i try to play a song it just says that i need to import it before i can play it, does anyone know whats wrong with it?
Guys I have found a different method of doing this that has worked for me. I tried this dudes way, I downloaded the spotify app for pc, clicked the three dots, changed my preferences to allow local files, and downloaded one song to test it. It worked- ONLY on pc. I even added it to a playlist and hit the download button to allow for offline listening and it still would not work on my phone. The song showed up, but it was grayed out with a popup stating "Song Not Downloaded" anytime I clicked on it. I was connected to my local network, I have premium, and I unchecked the 'hide unplayable songs', but nothing was working. Finally, a comment said to allow local files on the spotify app on the phone. So I took that downloaded song that I had on my pc, transferred it to my phone manually, and bam it showed up in the local files folder on my phone. I was able to add it to different playlists, able to play it, and even like it through Spotify.
@@BrenJen86 for android, you can simply connect your phone to the computer through usb, navigate the phones folders on pc to find where it stores music, then drag the music from your pc to your phone. For iPhone it’s harder. I recommend googling a video on it as there are a couple of different methods to getting it transferred with and without itunes.
i downloaded the playlist i made for the local files songs so that i can listen offline and on my phone like you said but even after i did that it wont play on my phone, the songs are just kinda grayed out and when i try to play them they skip over. do u know if theres anything i can do to change that?
@@Kianapeach oh okay wait so then how do the songs add to my local files cause I already have some mp3s of songs on my phone it’s just not on the local files on Spotify yet
@@Kianapeach Same thing happened to me, I only can play it on my computer( which I downloaded the audio from) but it grayed out when I try to play it on my phone. I also can't download the song for offline like in the video.

I followed all the steps from the video including what you said about turning local files on on my phone, but it never gives me the option to download the song. It stays grayed out. I can only play it on my computer but can’t get it playing on my phone. HALP Edit: Omg nvm I figured it out!! Another commenter mentioned to go into settings and uncheck “hide unplayable songs” if it’s clicked. I had everything else done but this was the last thing I needed that I didn’t see mentioned anywhere else
I have checked some other video and one of the comments suggested turning off firewall for a bit or running spotify as administrator. The first option was enough for me to make everything work. Also, thank you for the tutorial
If anyone is having problems even after following all the steps, here's what you can do: Make sure that all your files are MP3 documents. Make sure that the "local files" option is selected and switched to "ON" on both your phone and on your computer. Make sure that your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. If your still having problems idk 💀 If anyone else has any other solutions, feel free to comment below this.

I downloaded youtube videos into mp3 and then put them in a file on desktop and have the songs in a playlist, but can't play any of them because of "Spotify cant play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it" Edit: fixed when restarted
Here's a new one. I got the song onto Spotify (on both macbook and iphone), but any song I've used this process for will not play to my Sonos system. Songs play just fine on my phone, in my car, via bluetooth. But NOT on Sonos. It says, "Playback Restricted." Playing Spotify songs through Sonos is never a problem but as soon as one of these songs is next on a playlist, it skips over it.

the same thing happened to me too. The way I did it was connect my phone to the same wifi as my pc then I was able to download the songs on my phone. Also I added the songs in a new playlist, downloaded them on my phone and then added it to my other playlists. I hope this helps and works for you!
When i download the playlist on my pc, the local files don't have a downloaded mark next to them. When i try to play the music from my phone, it says the music isn'd downloaded. Is there any way to troubleshoot this?
I tried this method and it didn't work. Once I try to add my song on my playlist, it doesn't show up. I followed step by step and I got premium, I've added songs before I just dont know why it started tweaking.

I've been doing this for a while and it was working but now it won't let me change the name of the file I'm putting on spotify. For example, if I try to upload one of Lana Del Rey's unreleased songs I have to change the title so it won't get copyrighted. But even if I change the title in my folder for Spotify songs when I look at it in local files it says the original name and then it won't let me play it :( someone help please
@Amaryllis Marrero Try to use some software. I do recommend MP3 tag. You can basically remove all the tags related to any song, meaning you remove the name of the interpret, the name of an album, the cover etc. Finally, you just fill in any info, upload whatever cover you like and save all the tags. This particular engine is free. You can do all of this with each song individually, or you are able to mark multiple songs and fill in common information at once. The titles can, of course, be then changed individually.
if someone else views the playlist will they also see/be able to access the file of the song that you have downloaded and manually added to the spotify?
Do you have any suggestions for music tag editor on pc that will not corrupt the audio? I'm hoping to put my local files into spotify and organize the album art/tags for personal use.
I was having a problem getting the my downloaded songs to work on my iPhone with the message "spotify cant play this right now. if you have the file in your computer you can import it". I fixed this by going to my iPhone's "Settings", locating the Spotify App and enabling "Local Network" where it says "Allow Spotify to Access". Hope this helps :D
I did as you said and I do have Spotify premium but the local files work on my pc but not on my iPhone do you have any idea why? I even made them an offline thing and it has the green downloaded icon on all of them

I've been trying to add my Epic Games Soundtracks onto my Spotify but can't get it to work for some reason, I tried doing what I did for my Steam Soundtrack Library but there's just too many folders in the Epic Games to be able to do it easily, is there any way to do that or will I need to play it through Epic Games Launcher?
When i do it i can play the songs on the computer, but it wont work on the phone also when i have turned local files on, on the phone. And i had makeed sure it is MP3 files, What do i do so i can play my songs on the phone. I also have premium so i dont see the issue...
PLEASE HELP! I downloaded 14 songs from RU-vid as MP4 to a folder on my Desktop called NOT ON SPOTIFY. I enable local files in settings as instructed and added the source "NOT ON SPOTIFY" to the Local Files. The Local Folder shows up in my Library, but there are no files in it. What am I missing?
So if I have the songs turned into mp3 downloads and it’s in my files will it then appear in my local files on Spotify? No matter where it is like iCloud files, or downloads files or on my iPhone files as long as it’s converted to mp3 audio then it will show?
i have a slight problem, a handful of the songs i added a while back have grey'd out on spotify by themselves (meaning it wont play it in any playlist automatically unless i press that song in particular and cant queue them either) while others haven't done this and then ones ive just added now haven't either, anyone have a fix for this? thank you!
but howd you do it because every single song i add is grey, i cant even download it on pc, it just skipps the song. btw i have everything turned on like local files etc on both pc and iphone but i just cant play them on my iphone
@@ymm_romeo hmm alright so I just used like the 1st site that comes up to download youtube song if you want a link i can send it, downloaded x song, moved It to a folder i calmed RU-vid songs, enabled local files and turned on my RU-vid songs, (obviously turned on local files on my phone too while being on the same wifi), downloaded them on Spotify itself so that it has that little green arrow, then downloaded it on my phone aswell so it also has the green arrow showing It can be played offline and that seemed to work for me (I am on android just FYI) but should be the exact same process on an iPhone, I hope this helps if it doesn't just lemme know, will see if I can figure out the problem!
@@ymm_romeo and obviously made sure it downloaded in MP3 I know you probably did but the site I used defaults to MP4 and you have to change it to download MP3
Hi there thank you for your video guide. I have done a couple of time up to the point where I have added the songs to a playlist, then clicked the download arrow. Each time, the local files are the only files not downloaded, as on the mobile device, it just shows the local files as grey, hence they are not accessible other than on my pc. Do you know why and how can these files be accessible on my other devices?
I managed to add the songs to my playlist but when I click on the song it keeps saying 'This track isn't available on your device' but it works fine if I do it from my laptop
