Also, a super quick way to add automation lanes to a track is just to click the parameter you want to add automation for and then simply press Alt+A immediately afterwards and it will add the lane for you, saving you having to click n drag from the hand icon. This means you can 'click, then Alt+A' for several parameters, one after another, and they'll all get added to the automation lane. You'll know you've done it correctly because the little 'automation dot' will appear immediately on the most recent parameter you've chosen (these dots, though, won't appear on things like the on/off button, so just check the lane to make sure they got added).

This is so groovy. I've always wondered how this is done.

I have enjoyed using both of these methods. The flexibility or just plain "choice to do what I want" in Studio One is one of the very appealing aspects of it. I struggled with automation prior to Studio One because it always felt like I needed some special club handshake to get it to work intuitively; conversely when I cam over to S1, I found it extremely easy to do some of the same things I battled before. The "clip" (event) effects are not new to me from my old DAW, Cakewalk, but also nice that they are so easily accessible - and a handy tip (as if Joe didn't already know this) is that you can ALT drag an effect onto an audio event and it will add that effect to the event and turn on Event FX for it at the same time, even without the inspector open. Gotta love that Studio One Drag and Drop. Thanks for the video, Joe.

I would just cut the section I wanted and drop it into a track with a delay on the track. This is a different way to do it and I'mma try it. Thanks Joe. As always, great info.

Worth noting that you don't have to open the inspector and enable event effects to apply/use them. You can just option/alt drag your effect onto your event and you're done. Way faster than using automation and, if you want to reuse it later in the song, just option/alt drag your order onto each instance.

One of your better tutorials.. thanks Joe
@odmusicman
Great Joe. You can also just dupe the track, trim the audio on the dupe track down to the necessary parts and add the needed delay to THAT track. However, your method is less resource hungry.
