How to Add Lining to Your Crochet Tote Bag

✨Join me as I show you how to add a lining to the tote bag we crocheted together in the previous tutorials. Don't forget to check out the related videos in the description if you want to make your own tote bag! ✨
The total lining includes the bag lining, a pocket and a lining for the straps of the crocheted granny square tote bag. I chose to line the straps to make them strong and not stretch if I decided to carry heavy items such as books in the bag. And I find the addition of a pocket to the lining very essential to to elevate the practicality of your crochet tote bag. I will show the sewing of the lining to the crochet granny square bag in easy steps which allows to finish your bag lining in no time with the least struggle possible. I'm using a sewing machine to sew the lining to achieve speed in sewing and durability in the lining, but all the steps are applicable and the same if I were to sew it with hand. So, let's dive into the process of lining!

Oh, so sorry skipped that part. I thought no body would want to watch me sewing. I have another bag tutorial in my plans. Maybe I can show the sewing part then. Do you prefer sewing with sewing machine or by hand? Which one do you like to see?

Do you usually use the sewing machine to sew together and if so, how does the yarn not get stuck?

I use the sewing machine when I want to have a peace of mind that the sewing is durable and won't easily be undone if it goes through a lot. Like here in in this bag when I know I might use it to carry heavy items such as books. The sewing machine also allows me to finish the sewing faster. But, you can definitely hand sew everything. As for the yarn getting stuck, I'm not sure if I understood your question correctly? If you mean the yarn getting stuck in between the feed dogs and the needle, no they don't! isn't amazing. Try it with small granny square! most of the time you won't even see the sewing thread because it gets hidden in the yarn. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have anymore questions 🤗.
