This is one of your best tutorials, by far. I want to say to you that I consider you a veritable treasure. You improve our lives, by making us better professionals, and that's no small thing. I hope you can fully understand all the benefits that you bring to this community. A million times, thank you.
Such a delight to watch Jesús working in Photoshop. His simplicity and humility to teach is so fascinating. Wonderful video. Wonderful teacher. Thanks again Jesús
My conspiracy theory: Mostly, people don't use someone's name twice in a comment like that. Despite his own hispanic surname, Freddie finds it really funny to keep thanking "Jesus" for the video, diacritic marks notwithstanding.
Hello. All the tutorials I found on RU-vid about changing the pattern are just for one single color. I'm having problems because I need to change one flowery pattern for another but I need to keep the lights shadows. Can you please explain how to do it? Thanks
So glad you decided to make this a full tutorial. I am brain numb at this point, so I will find a picture and follow through again with it. Jesus, you're the man. Super tutorial.
Please make a video on "change texture on textured cloth". Many video on apply or change texture but all are on plain cloths, no one on textured cloth. Please make it. It will be a great help for us. Thanks.
Wow! There is soo much great material in this video: creating vector masks, the key board short cuts, and how to use the different blending modes. Seriously, you put in a lot of time and effort into making this video and your dedication shows.
Hi Jesus, What an excellent tutorial! What I like the most is the way you work non-destructive. Thinking long-term 👌 I also love your technique to create the wrinkles in the shirt 👏
Seriously advanced level tips here! Thank you for going into a lot of detail on how to do each step. So many other videos don't even show which hotkeys they pressed for each step. I am extra appreciating the way you used Warp and masking to make the wrinkles more realistic (a step I haven't seen a lot of in other tuts). Hopefully using an image file instead of a repeating pattern will also work well within this overall method?
I get so excited when you have new content. And this one blew me away. I took notes, screen grabs and directions. Thank you so much for your generosity as you share your golden vast knowledge.
Hi Jesus, I have CS6 and for some reason I cant choose multiple Paths by holding Shift as you describe at 14:48. It always only select 1 by the time. Any idea? Otherwise amazing helpful tutorials - thumbs up!
Hi, just wanted to tell you that this single video took me from a deadbeat insurance job in March making $20k a year to triple the income now in November. Anyone who wants to open their own business and can apply this video, this video is gold. You, my friend, have raked in a giant blessing from your creator for helping me, I imagine. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Update: I came back to this video to use it for my new fabric collection. Sold $800,000 of products since I used this video 4 years ago, and I wouldn't be surprised if my company becomes a million dollar company next year. Thank you again, this tutorial changed my life.
Thanks for this video..it makes me very helful, and want to Know two thing more. First is that how can mark the stitching of shirt. And second is that how can we apply another pattern of fabrics.
Very complicated to take in, a lot of work but nicely explained and absolutely fantastic when new patterns added, makes all the work worthwhile. Thanks for sharing. Subscribed.
This is great, I love how you took your time and really explained every step. I've been tweeking this texture for a while and it's just not quite right but with these techniques I feel more confident. I still think it will take a minute to get the techniques down but thanks a bunch.
Wow! I mean - WOW! You really put a lot into this 'patterned shirt'! It's worth it if you use the template often. I loved all the preparations you made for each section - displacement map, Liquify, etc!! Laying out the patterns to the parts of the shirt reminds me of learning to lay out a sewing pattern along the weave of the fabric off the bolt. Cool tutorial!!
Does this tutorial work with older Photoshop versions like CS6? Have already done all the vector path pen selections of a shirt but does not let me to shift select all the paths and bring them as a group to the layers panel.
2024! This is still the best tutorial of making clothing mockup. Came back here to relearn how to do this. We'd be glad if you could update this tutorial with the current version of Photoshop. But it's already, by far, the best one.
You have covered some very useful techniques! I usually see displacement maps used alone (with shadowing), but the addition of distortion is brilliant. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, that was complex yet very satisfying! The end result is amazing! I learnt a ton of stuff (as usual) but the *most important* was splitting the shirt into its component vector-masked parts! (I'd tried to do this in the past and only used displacement maps, and things weren't always realistic enough. Now I know how..). Thank you very much Jesús!
These videos are so awesome, I'm watching them even though I'm not a graphics person and won't have use for most of the techniques :D Although I'm thinking about giving Jesús a proper haircut with Photoshop :p
Thanks for this tutorial. This gives me a better idea of how mockups are created and look so realistic. I hope to try this on my own, soon. First time I have seen vector mask used. I am sure I will need to watch the techniques many times to get the procedures. If you have any other videos that can help me with creating mockup templates, it would be much appreciated.
This is am amazing great tutorial one of the best ones I've ever seen however is there a faster/shorter way to do this? And don't get me wrong I will take the time to learn everything you put in this video but right now I am just trying to do some mock-ups for t-shirt prints and I can't spend this amount of time on every single shirt. Is there a quick way of doing this keeping the shadows and changing the patterns and colors of the garments thank you.
GUY I LIKED YOUR VIDDEO AND SUBSCRIBED BCZ FIRST TIME I HAVE SEEN YOU MADE AN INDEX FOR VIDEO ACCORDING TO TIME .SO THAT WE CAN SEE THE ISSUE SEPARATELY.IT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT .THANK YOU 😊
Ok, everything looks fine, but the real issue here is that all this flow works only if the base color or texture of the shirt is white, gray, or any other simple or solid color. What will you do if the shirt has already an pattern, lets say, stripes or checker... You can no more blend, multiply or overlay textures, because they will mix, both textures. Lets suppose that I have already a shirt with stripes pattern on it.. I want to replace that pattern with checkers, keeping the shadows of the shirt, and all the rest. In this case, what will be the flow? If you are kind, can you consider making an tutorial about this issue? As an update, lets say to this great video. I think that will be awesome! Thank you!
@@Hongs.average no, they aren't... the only way , but is messy, is to patch, to clone, to clean the problematic areas, but , as I told you, is messy...you need to work on an already clean texture, white or grey preferably...anything else is very problematic...
🎉 brilliant! You make it look easy, but it is definitely a skill I can improve on with practice. I appreciate the step by step long video on this complex project 👍🏼👏🏻
Excellent tutorial! For some reason when I create the path, jump to layers to duplicate, and then turn off the original layer, it keeps the background, and removes the path layer. Any idea as to why?
If the shirt has a different color, then change it to white. If it has a texture, then it depends. You might be able to photoshop out the texture. If not, you cannot use that photo.
Wow, tedious work, but well worth it... I would have just suggested just using the Displacement map to apply those patterns on the shirt, but i mean to get better results, u have to go even further than that.. Just like my GrandMa always says, "You need to go *FURTHER* " Good job my man, more _Grease_ .
you just know what inside my head. im justttt about to ask you for this tutorial. colege keep asking me to make t-shirt for their program. but im not that pro. if you very kind to waste your time for us, please make 1 video to create blank t-shirt that we can add later our designed. hard to find one. need to buy actually, and it's expensive.
Hey. I hope you all are doing great . I am new to photoshop and i am currently learning photoshop. I want to make my own shirt pattern. Anyone who can help me out? Thanks in advance. Note: Small gesture for gratitude will be provided.
Genius Jesus! Question: How much time would you say this project took, start to finish? Like you said, a lot was repetitive, but how long does a project like this take?
I finished it in about 2 hours. But if I were getting paid for a high-end client I would probably spend three or four times as much. To make sure that everything is as good as it can be.
Ehm there is a problem with all these tutorials that are made for photoshop techniques; don't hget me wrong they are helpful BUT...... there is a "but" - the images that are in these tutorials [all of them in youtube] are so so high quality made and therefore easy to access with all the instruments and editing ; now imagine that u have more lower quality photos so yeah, this is hard to comprehend for a newby like me ... : / : /
Sir won't it work just with a displacement map? With higher contrast levels using levels or curves.. with some tweaking with burn and dodge tools.. cause the that liquify method is bit tideous.. (although it's the best one) I think it won't be this great i guess
I am a bit confused...were you just showing us how to create the masks or is it something we need to do in order to complete the job of adding a pattern/texture? The ones you deleted...like was it an example on just how to do it? Please explain the purpose in making these paths then deleting them saying you don't need them anymore. thanks!
This held the answer I’ve been searching for!!! I need to create about 200 pattern changes for one product and wanted to create a system for it. This is the way!!! Thank you!
