Hi guys!
I've added permanent roots to my Sympathy Mono Deluxe wig by Gisela Mayer in colour 14/26R
• Great Quality wig! SYM...
Here is what I used:
Pentel Brown Permanent Paint Marker Pen Colour Paint Pens Metal Plastic Stone Wood Mirrors 4mm Bullet Nib Tip 2.5mm - 2.9mm Line Width Cellulose Based Opaque Pigment Ink MMP20-EO (Pack Of 3) amzn.eu/d/5cy4Z5i
It comes in 15 different colours and it's a cellulose based paint marker pen.
For non permanent option go with:
L'Oréal root retouch wand that looks like a mascara.
Let me know what you think and please make sure to open a window for ventilation!

Great vid and lovely wig. Looks great on you. My only suggestion (I do this all the time) is to not paint so close to the lace. The paint travels and bleeds a bit so it will create the root but not touch the lace. If you go too close then you run the risk of dying the lace and magnifying the knots. I hope that makes sense. Again, just a suggestion. 🌻

Hi hun! 👋❤ Thanks! I did try my best not to touch those notts! 😊😅 What do you use for adding roots? Xx always ready to learn from my wig sisters 🤗😘

@@Teds_Wig_Emporium No, you did great! I do exactly what you did. I usually make my roots quite a lot darker so that's why I wanted to leave my suggestion. I usually use burnt umber or burnt umber mixed with black. I paint a quarter of an inch away from the lace and watch where it goes. I can actually see it bleed down to JUST before it hits the lace so then I know I'm in the right range and not painting too close.

@@missluna3409 cool! I chickened out and use a brown shade first! Next time I’m gonna be more brave and try mixing with black 🤗🤭❤️

This is really nice. I like a shadow root, but not those really STARK roots so many blonde pieces have, so this is a great alternative!

Thank you! Yes, lighter shades are quite tricky to find indeed. Tbh I would have preferred a slightly darker result, but it still looks convincing enough! 😬💕 thank you for watching 😘

Such a huge improvement!!! I don’t like unrooted wigs at all. I think it was a fabric marker that I tried in the past but it left the wig feeling waxy afterward until I washed it. This is a better option! 😆❤

Isn’t it?! Soo much better now! There’s definitely a little texture where the root was done but nothing too bad. Next time I use it I think I’ll do it outdoors! 🤣 thank you for watching and sharing your experience! 😘😘😘

Good idea indeed, but the color looks a bit too reddish in my opinion. Of course that depends on your preferences. I personally use Pantone Copic-markers who come in a wide range of colors and also in warm dark grey tones who look ashier and blend better with light browns and blondes. To get a nice transition from the roots to your wigcolor you tamper your strokes with a cotton full of acetone free nailpolish remover after applying the copic-color.

As anticipated in another short, I use it since 2018, not only for wigs, but also for your own scalp when you use fibers. But better in spray.

I fell in love with this wig as soon as I watched your review of it a few weeks ago Ted and yes, I too would absolutely need a root with it. You did a brilliant job with the marker! I know for a fact that I would stuff it up if I attempted to do it, I'm so clumsy and anxious. That wig looks perfect now and I want it SO much. Lol but seriously though..😭.

I’ll probably wear this one most of the time when I’m at home and out and about! She’s so comfy and easy to wear! Looks soooo much better with the roots! This is definitely the last resort I would go with if I wasn’t able to get the colour I wanted. It’s quite tedious and oh boy, that marker made my head spin! 😂 Look! You have to stop putting yourself down so much! You are awesome! There is a very clever woman you want to watch, she’s called Lisa Nichols and she has changed the way I talk about myself! I Love doing color i have done hi Lites & Low Lites on a human hair wig, however on a blonde synthetic wig, i used markers that were suggested & the roots took on a very warn red tone. Maybe it is the Lighting in video, roots seem very warm to me.
@Teds_Wig_Emporium
@Teds_Wig_Emporium 11 месяцев назад
Hi! Yes you are right, I must admit the brown marker has a really warm tone when dried, especially on a strawberry blonde canvas of the fibres. I would most likely add few “spots” of black marker to create a darker root further towards the crown, making sure to blend them with brush strokes. I would always do a test run in a small area you can’t see, to make sure you’ll happy with the results xx Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions xx

I think you are stating you washed and conditioned it after and it was permanent...your ad for another video covers the wSh and conditioner words. Up to this pt I have tested on synthetic and on hd wigs, Copic markers and Furniture markers, which all wash out, totally in one wash. Sharpie markers stay, on both fibers. Difficult to find them in Browns in the US. But did find some finer pt ones, that also are staying in. I have also used black sharpie on fibers, used alcohol on a make up pad to lighten it to a light gray for gray low lights. and it stays after washing. Alcohol did not bother the wig fibers on a regular synthetic wig. Have not dine that process on HD fibers yet.

I find the smellier markers work the best 😂😂 the one I used made me feel super dizzy! 🙈 I just bought a HD wig, with very light roots and I don’t like them .., I may have to put that to the test! Xx

Does that paint make the wig hair feel stiff?
@Teds_Wig_Emporium
@Teds_Wig_Emporium Год назад
I applied a very thin layer and after it died out it didn’t feel odd. I washed it few times since as well, which dropped the colour maybe by 10%. This paint pen is meant to be used in fabrics, so it penetrates the fibres instead of coating them … that’s how I understood it xx It does stink thou! Please use outdoors if possible!

You did a great job & i enjoyed video, i am playing with a synthetic wig right now. However the wig looks so natural with hi & Low Lites, i have used furniture dark brown markers, also a marker that was suggested on another video. All i can see is warmth almost a reddish tone, i prefer an ash tone. I may try an ashy brown root touch up. Root touch up will wash out, maybe it will look more natural.

I think they did a good job but the color is too warm to be more specific. "All wrong" doesn't really help anyone.
