For the first method we will be using the block editor in WordPress itself. In your post or page ediotr you would want to click the + symbol in your editor to add a new block and select the 'Table' element.
This will bring up a prompt asking you how may columns and rows you would like to include in your table. Start with what would work for you, the number of each can be changed so don't worry there. In the block options you will have multiple different design options that you can choose and modify.
For the second, more advanced option, we will be using the TablePress plugin found using the link below:

With this plugin you can edit the same table and have it update across your site. This plugin is also helpful if you are still using the clasic editor on your site instead of the block editor. Tablepress has many more custimization options for you to chang to your liking and once saved you would copy the shortcode in the top right to add the table to your content.

QUESTION: Great tutorial, thank you! I created a table format for recipes I share in my blog. I saved it as a reusable blog thinking that in each blog post I'll just drop that my "recipe table" in the new blog post and add new text. HOWEVER, whatever new text I add to the pre-made block changes in all the previous blocks. How can I make it a static block? I haven't tried the plug-in as I was hoping this could be done without it.

You would need to convert the block back after adding it for what it sounds like you're wanting.

The tables are normally to replace bulleted lists, we would recommend reaching out to the plugin's support with the specifics of what you're wanting and they should be able to assist.

We do not have a recommended method for that as tables like that are designed to change size to still be readable on mobile devices.

@@wpbeginner Hi, thanks for responding to my question. I have found a way to solve my problem. I tried to access my wordpress website through a browser and was able to get a "table" block there. It appears as that the "table" block is unsupported in the WordPress app but supported on the WordPress website.
