How to add Title Names when Ripping a Music CD is a 6-minute long 720p hi-def video showing how to transfer music from a CD to a USB Memory Stick to use in a car without the CD player. This method also includes how to include Album, Artist and Track names.
NB: It no longer works with Windows Media Player on a Windows 7 computer, a ploy by Microsoft to encourage you to update to Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.

Thanks bud! It’s been a long time since I’ve had to do this, but the time has come to downsize my extensive music collection (i.e. rip all the CDs, ditch the case and keep all the discs stacked in a plastic spindle)

Yes, that worked. I uploaded the unknown music to my Google Drive. Then on my new Laptop downloaded it from Google Drive. Opened it in Windows Media Player and the artist, title and album image all just appeared!

Naming the files on the computer will those names be used for each track when playing a CD in the car?

I just noticed your note about it not working on Windows 7. Is there a work around for this?

My old laptop with Windows 7 (which is great) has a CD drive. My new laptop with (I can't even find where it says what system it is).. doesn't have a CD drive. Can I put the 'Unknown' tracks as MP3 on a USB and then rename them via WMP on the new laptop?

Hi Mineplayerminer, Yes Microsoft is not my favorite company. I used to be able to rip CD with Windows 7, but I now only have Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 computers. Fortunately, with these newer operating systems, Windows Media Player currently names and rips the cd music to mp3 files perfectly. But if you want to know what I think of Windows bloody 10, have a look on RU-vid (HX7V) for, Addressing Windows 10 Data Concerns, and Windows 10 Privacy Concerns. I am also not happy with Windows 10 Updates which give you no size information or choices of what to download. Cheers from HX7V

My dad doesn't want to upgrade to Windows 10 for free. (I still have original working key from 2009 and I wanted windows 10) I'm so sad, that the BEST Operating system (Windows 7) is ending. For example: I can't play some youtube videos, because HTML5 is not supported anymore, or it cannot find informations about CDs (or DVDs) ☹️. But, one thing, which still works is Diskette! 😁

I have a hard-wire connection (ethernet) and don't use my wifi, so I am always connected to the internet. When I clicked on "Update Album Info," nothing happened. Can you tell me what happened? Thank you.

Hi Helene, I used to be able to rip CDs with Windows 7, but I understand that it no longer works with Windows 7. What operating system do you use? I now only have Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 computers. Fortunately for me with these newer operating systems, Windows Media Player still names and rips the CD music to mp3 files perfectly.

@@HX7V Unfortunately, I have Windows 7 Professional. Thanks for the information and for solving the riddle.

There is no presenter! Why on Earth would you expect anyone to follow this video, when there is no presenter describing what's happening? This video makes no sense at all.

Turn the sound on. There is a verbal commentary explaining the whole procedure. Also all my videos are hi-def and best viewed on a large screen, with sound.

Just get a Mac.

Your comment is irrelevant to the topic. At least my Windows PC does have a DVD/CD Player. I assume you are a fanboy who has more Cents than Sense, to buy an overpriced Apple computer supported by less than 10% of world PC owners.

With my Mac, you put the CD in the slot, and it immediately displays title/artist/etc. I paid a little more for my computer, but it seems to do a lot more than yours, and effortlessly.
@HX7V

Hi@@jonathanhayes7101 I assume your Mac is old, as I understand that current Mac computers don't have a DVD/CD player.

HX7V I use an external drive, which syncs with the Mac - my laptop or desktop - seamlessly, downloading all the info.
@HX7V

@@jonathanhayes7101 My Desktop and 2 Laptop Computers have built in DVD/CD Drives. Some CD's have the required music information on the disk, but some need to download the missing data from the internet. This isn't hard to do as my internet is on all the time and the missing data appears in less than a minute. If you read the other comments, you will see that my video has been most helpful to other people, who make up 90% of PC users.

Brilliant thank you but I’ve Gotta sort out how to do it on a Mac. I love Macs but everybody presumes one is using windows. This is not a complaint, you have shown me what I need to do and all I have to do is just find the correct folders because the name will be different but the action will be the same. I’ve come back and I’ve done it, with the titles - thank you so much!
