Is your apple peeler/corer/slicer not peeling as well as it once did? Is it leaving peelings on your apple? There are some simple adjustments you can make on your apple peeler to make it work as good as new and be a joy to use.
In this video I will show you how to use the adjustments on your apple peeler to improve it's function. I will show you how to adjust the peeling blade, if it is leaving peeling or if it is peeling too deep. Your core slicing blade can also be adjusted for an even cut. It is also important to know how to place your apple properly on to the peeler. I will show you how to properly position your apple for optimal results. You will get greater satisfaction from using your apple peeler, as well as improved results, when it is properly adjusted.
You can always refer back to this video for trouble shooting tips over time.

Wayne this was such a helpful video! My great grandpa had one of these that I loved during childhood and I finally got my own today. The corer bit was giving us trouble (still is but we’re getting there). This was a huge help, so thank you!

I just bought the new Johnny Apple Peeler that has a suction cup base. When it works, it's fantastic. However, every so often it gets halfway through the apple and then it twists the core and stops slicing. This leaves me with an apple that is on both sides of the slicer and it has to all be pulled off and finished by hand. Before I start, I try to center the apple core on the device so that it spins evenly, then I push the apple all the way onto the prongs. I can't figure out why it works on some apples and not others. They are all Honeycrisp and I picked them up at the store last night. They are firm without bruises. I have about 20 lbs total and am only half way through. Do you have any idea of what is wrong? Thank you.

This is unusual for a firm apple but the apples were likely picked 6 months ago. This could be the problem. Good luck with your project and have a great day.

@@DIYwithWayne Thank you Wayne. The apple seems to stick between the blade and the peeler when it gets about 3/4 inch from the end. I just did another 5 lbs and only 2 apples went through properly.

@@DIYwithWayne I found out what was causing the problem. The wingnut that holds on the coring/slicing blade was hitting the apple and causing it to stop turning. If I turn the apple around and run it through with the blossom end towards the fork, it almost never happens. Why the directions show to do it the opposite way, I can't figure. My old machine must have had a smaller wingnut. Just thought you might like the update as it might help someone else.

Why don't YOU demonstrate how to replace the peeling cutter? You know....that little u-shaped cutter that cuts off the apple skin? It suddenly became too small to be put back on. I just ordered a whole new perling machine that comes with TWO extra peeling blades...WHAT A JOKE! It must take a machine at the factory to form it in place!

Thank you for a great video! I've wanted one of these devides for quite a while and I was delighted to find a Pamper Chef one today at a thrift store for $5.. It is complete but there was no box or instructions. I have a home-based cottage food business and was only interested in using the peeler corer slicer for making pies, etc and I've never been interested in dehydrating anything, but I'm going to watch your video on that device and I just may start doing that, too because that would be another item I can sell.

That sounds great. They do work well if the blades are sharp and the apple are firm. Soft apples will be a big problem, even small bruises can be an aggravation. A tip: if dehydrating, take them out and put in sealed bags hot. If they cool off first, they will get soft. Good luck with your project and have a great day.

Hey Wayne. Do you have an idea on making the slices thicker?
@DIYwithWayne
@DIYwithWayne 10 месяцев назад
Not with this peeler. The thickness in controlled by the threads on the lead screw. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.

I have not had that problem but the end with the horseshoe shaped end goes to the cutter arm and the other end goes' through a hole on the base. I hope this helps. Good luck with your project and have a great day.
