DUDE thank you for this video!!! Just adjusted mine on my new GSXR750 & what a difference!!! Just did the first service myself and this was what i neeeded 💪🏼🙌🏼
No problem! Thanks for watching glad u got something out of the video! I had to adjust mine when i bought it! No one really talks about it but it’s really important! Gsxr750?! Nice enjoy!
@@SpunkyBoyy yessir..i did everything else for the first service and was wondering why i stilll had a “lag” after cleaning chain etc. This is my 2nd 2020 GSXR750 and its been my fav bike since i can remember
i just bought a gixxer 750 and have basically swapped all fluids, filters, etc. it’s very hard to downshift and up shift. Sometimes it feels like I’m almost putting my weight on it to go down. Would clutch cable cause this?
@@SpunkyBoyy Likewise dude I stick around cause you make worthy videos, every video so far is proof of that. Keep it up. Looking forward to the next one 👊
Great video! Thanks for the info. I just got my first GSXR (09 K8 750) love the bike but it seems to click when releasing the clutch leaver (after the biting point). I can’t work out why. As you release the leaver, after the biting point it seems to snatch a little. I am going to lubricate the cable and pivot point this weekend and hopefully that will sort it out.
Thank you for the effort in making the video. Another simple way to check is to have the bike on stand, 1st gear clutched in and see how much does the wheel rotate. A little but due to engine vibration is okay. But if it takes effort to stop the wheel, cultch needa to be tightened. Slipping clutches allowing for too much rotation is only going to wear down the plates much faster.
Billythebiker thank you! I appreciate that👌🏻 Seems like people like the different angles, so I’ll be trying to make more of these style vids moving forward! Glad you enjoyed the vid, and thanks for watching and leaving your thoughts!
Thanks man! I’m going to try and be doing those style vids moving forward! I like getting shots of me off the bike and switching up the angles, it’s better for the viewer and it’s just more fun making vids that way! Haha thanks man been working on those down shifts lately!😆
Super important and super informational man. Burnt clutches bad, clutch cable adjusted right good. lol. I just noticed this one ! Damn my bad man! Angles, different scenes and everything man 👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks man! Ya it’s very important. I made this video cause the guy that bought my bike brand new burnt up his clutch from not having it adjusted correctly. There wasn’t any play in the cable and I’ve seen a guy on RU-vid he bought a bike brand new and was riding the clutch out bad cause it wasn’t adjusted. So I figured I’d make this video! Thanks again for the comment!
Twisted Films thank you! That M4 shorty really made a difference in sound! I’m really happy you enjoyed the video, I’m going to make more vids like this moving forward! As always thanks for commenting and leaving your thoughts🤙🏻 I really appreciate that!
My 07 f Gixxer I tried to bring the clutch in just a tad since my hands are small. But unfortunately I could not find neutral while riding and at one point I got stuck in 3rd gear and couldn't downshift. Any idea what issue is? I didn't tighten it all the way in or anything but just that little adjustment messed it up.
Stuck in gear hmmm? That’s tough to say it could be the transmission or the clutch it’s kind of hard for me to say cause I’d have to ride the bike and take a look at it. How many miles are on it? Have the oil changes been done regularly?
RedMoonRising24 no matter where u have it adjusted the cable just needs to have a little bit of play in it and ur fine, but if it’s not disengaging properly then it could make it hard to change gears
Spunky Boyy the only time it acted up with the gears was right after I messed with the clutch so I know it was that. Synthetic oil change done as soon as I bought it and 15k miles. Once I put the cable back where it was previously the issue went away. I’m gonna get shorty levers soon for it. Make it easier on my small hands haha
Hey. Nice video. Can you make a video on adjusting the front brake lever as well for the gsxr? I just got my M21 600 and want to learn it the brake knob adjustment. Thanks.
I have an issue with a bike I just bought. I am a new rider is it supposed to stall out when I hold the clutch and I am in first gear? It does it alot when I am in traffic and I am not sure why it keeps stalling out. I can only do a stop and go like 2 maybe 3 times before it stalls out. Only way for it not too is to use the throttle when I am still holding the throttle. When I do this tho the throttle acts up and starts to jerk. I need help fixing this. I am a new rider for it is hard to understand if it is suppose to be doing this but I am almost positive it's not because it wasn't doing this before.
So new rider here, my clutch lever when in its resting position leaves the free play gap, (so when I’m sitting still I can push the clutch lever out) everything feels normal when I have to engage the clutch there’s still a little bit of room before it cuts power I’m just curious as to why at rest my clutch lever create about a cm of free play
That’s a great question..it has free play in it because it’s suppose to be like that..if it doesn’t have any play in the cable ur going to burn up the clutch..basically ur just adjusting the friction point imagine if the friction point of the clutch was all the way out towards the very end it would be nearly impossible to not ride the clutch consistently therefore u will burn up the clutch..so if u have play in the cable and when u make ur shifts ur not dumping the clutch or revving it while shifting you’re fine. I know that’s complicated to understand especially being new to all this but I hope that helps
This is not how you do it. The only adjustment at the cable is to take the slack out. If you slack it off to change the friction point you may not get full disengagement, clunky shifts, damage.
I just bought a gsxr and the clutch lever hits the abc mode every single I shift can anyone help me out with this please do I need to tighten it so it won’t come back all the way or what
I explained how to adjust the friction point of the clutch this video has nothing to do with fixing ur clutch it’s just adjusting the friction point of the clutch
