Thanks for this. I've been hating looking at the doors for years. It looks much better. It could probably use taking apart and squaring off the cabinets, but I'll leave that for some young person; I just can't go through that🙂. It's in a closed off room.

I have been on the web looking for how to adjust ikea cabinets, and I must say , this is the most informative , easy to follow video I have come accross. The use of the piece of cardboard to show how to adjust the hinges is so easy to understand. I thank you for sharing this information. You have saved my a lot of time and aggravation.
When you stack cabinets directly on each other, do you align doors from top down or bottom up? I have three cabinets high (70” high) on two adjoining walls.
Can you adjust how far the doors open or is that a fixed set point? I wish I could open my doors all the way open because one is over the countertop and it makes for an awkward reach around the door since it seems to only open a little more than 90degrees from the cabinet
Hi Wendy, Hard to advise without seeing it. But here is what I would do. First check that the cabinet is square , then check both hinges are properly seated flush with the surfaces of the door and cabinet. Check also that you have used the correct holes on the cabinet side. If that doesn't help then start again first line the back side edge of the door with the cabinet and align door top and bottom (both doors) then fine tune gaps between door and cabinet. With the door closed, look from the hinged side to see the door/cabinet gap is even top and bottom. Failing that I find sometimes just leaving it for a few days and thinking about the problem a solution will come to me out of the blue(usually 4am😊). I hope this is of some use, good luck👍😊
