Yeah, I have Schmidt cassegrain, and it's all mirrored. I'll move it left, and the image goes right. It's bizarre. Eventually I wanna get a big like 14 or 16 inch dobsonian so I can really see stuff thats a bit too far out there for an 8 inch cassegrain. Or maybe a 14 inch cassegrain but in that price range I'd have to get it on payments. Which is doable but it's a bit of a pipe dream at the moment hahaha. Maybe in a few years.
The 3 screws on my finder scope are so difficult to align. I can't tell if they broken or not but seems they go both directions when i tighten or loose
@@LateNightAstronomy thank you. I got it working now. I'm very new to star gazing and bought my telescope only last week. Do you have a video on how to correctly set up an eq mount and what each part does. I get issued with movement on mine. Some places it moves all directions freely other only goes up or down.
Hi my friend. I am not sure who else to ask and given you have the same scope as me, thought I would give you a shot. My 8 dob has been giving me big issues with the focuser. I realize it's very sensitive, and supposed to be so, but the eyepiece/housing continues to just fall/collapse NO MATTER THE TENSION of the thumbscrew underneath (between the adjustment knobs). The adjustments either don't work (too tight) or will move for a half second before collapsing under the weight of the eyepiece. The friction is not working. It used to not do this. It's like it's stripped of grip/unable to hold an ounce of weight or be tightened where it's not adjustable. All or nothing. Very frustrating. Any advice how to fix it? Any help is VERY appreciated!!
@@landonkirk7914 I just tried to recreate what you were describing with my telescope and could not. I have not had any issues with the 2 inch Crayford style focuser. It is possible that something has happened regarding the tension adjustment screw near the focus lock screw (See figure 13a. in the manual) but I would encourage you to call Orion's customer service before tinkering too much with in order to preserve your warranty. I'm sure this is frustrating for a new telescope you are excited about. Let me know what you find out!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and am sorry to hear that the adds are playing loudly for you. Might be a good thing to mention to google if it keeps going on.
Hi, I got starsense telescope just today. The object I located in eyepiece is not within the finder scope when I look straightly. If I look into the finder scope from the side of eyepiece lens, I can see the object but red spot is no where found.
Waiting on word from RU-vid about becoming a "RU-vid Partner". Once I get the invite, I'll be able to design and put up some things for anyone interested!
Yesterday i find very difficult in settings my telescope bu after watching your vide it's hardly take couple of minutes to set my telescope Once again thanks 🙂
Nope, everything through the eyepiece with that telescope will appear upside down. When you are looking at things in space orientation doesn't matter. If you are trying to use it to look at things on the ground, you may want to get another telescope.
They may be too loose to begin with. Try slowly tightening all of them to make sure they are touching the finder scope. Get back to me if that still doesn't work!
