i dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know a method to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any tricks you can offer me
This video helped me so much. The way you present and structure your videos is extremely helpful. It also reduces my stress a little bit because I can already create a „Leitfaden“ in my brain
Him: no one would ever associate this painting with fear or terror Me: i would never walk alone in that dark alley at the end And tysm for the explanations!
I have recently discovered your videos and I really appreciate them. How would you explain the difference between mood and atmosphere? Second question that came to my mind: Isn't the use of language (thus rhetorical devices) one narrative technique?
Hi Mandy, thank you! I would say that when discussing mood, the focus is slightly different - what mood does the scene evoke? Atmosphere to me is a more technical term that includes aspects (time period, country, ...) that might not influence emotions per se. To your second question: the problem is that different school systems, universities etc. use a slightly different terminology. I personally don't mind much which "basket" (language, rhetorical device) observations are put in, as long people are able to identify and name what they are analyzing. Hope that helps! All the best, Mr V
Eine Frage: Wenn ich die Atmosphäre eines fictional Textes analysieren soll, geht das auch mit den choise of words? Also dass ich z.B. Wörter wie "raining" oder "smoky air" zur Analyse benutze? MFG das Video war super
This videos explains how to document what you're looking at... but how do you actually do the analysis? How do you know what you're looking at? You say in the excerpt, there are feelings of loneliness and oppression. How are they shown? How does the reader know they're there? What does the reader look for to find these details?
Good point. I would say that ultimately, we rely on basic human associations and intuitive reactions. So once an author describes an environment as, say, "dark, cold and loud" most humans would feel uncomfortable, scared, etc., depending on context. Portraying this set of cause and effect is the aim of the analysis.
