a question im asked all the time is how can you anchor in rougher weather? so in this session iv taken time to explain how i do this followed by this weeks session
Once again another informative great watch and those conditions looked just right for Mr Bass. Over the last couple of years Iv'e been making my own weights like the Umbrella weight you showed in the film. I simply cut out and weigh a 6 or 7 Oz piece of sheet lead, twist two pieces of cheap galvanised wire together with a trapped swivel in the loop and roll the lead around the wires as tight as possible. Then flatten the lead with a hammer, cut the prongs to length and bend into shape. Casting distance isn't an issue when fishing for Cod in the Mersey at winter its important to grab the bottom ASAP to get a chance to find the sand before being driven into the rough ground. With the lead being flattened it helps stop the weight rolling and the long wires find a quick hold. The wires are soft enough to straighten with a good pull out and I find I lose a hell of a lot less weights. The weights only cost a swivel and a couple of strands of wire as the lead is cadged form any willing, nice roofer so let's say they easily cost less than 10 pence each. I would think fishing the wall you don't lose much tackle but maybe the idea of the weights holding bottom better could be of use to you. Cheers
Yeah that's sounds good and cost effective as for losing weights on The wall unless you crack off the only way do do it is to leave it out for to long and let is sink to far into the sand tight lines 🎣🎣
Great videos mate! Just started making my own, I launch my boat off lytham usually but heard good things about gynn wall! Looking forward to the next vid 👍
@@lifeofgazfishing1873 Do you use braid straight through or with a leader? as at the moment I'm trying 75lb braid straight through rather than use a leader
