By ‘back’ do you mean you’d thin the hoof wall? As explained this is only the process for bonding a shoe on and the foot used is a lamanitic as that’s all that was available. This is a process that is usually used on a compromised thoroughbred foot that’s racing and needs to work/race. The thinner the wall the weaker it will become. I'd be more worried about bringing the toe length back on that foot if that was a live horse.
