I rolled my boat using the methods, tips & material as described. Unfortunately, the "orange peel" left after the final coat was less than desirable, so after 2 weeks I wet sanded with 1000, 2000 & 3000, followed up by Mcguires #100 compound on a 7" polisher at 2200rpm. It looked terrible. I've done a lot of painting professionally and I'm used to being able to knock down and "rough" spots and bring it right back up using the methods described, however the pigment seems to float to the top of the wet film and as soon as you break the surface, the color changes slightly, and no matter what is used to buff, the gloss will not come back. I ended up going over the entire boat with 400 again and laying on a 5th coat. It's super shiny, but even using the foam roller covers recommended by the distributor, it still had significant orange peel. With that said, it's not the worst finish from 30 feet away... lol >>>>It would be very helpful for EPIFANES to either caution people to not attempt to wet sand the final coat, or give instructions on how to correct the issue in the tech sheets.
It is better to add the thinner after the induction time. You could also add them directly to the paint, but some thinners will evaporate during the induction time.
