I'm going to show you how to apply foundation with your fingers for smooth skin that look flawless. This foundation technique works great for anyone wanting to avoid wasting foundation. It's also great if you prefer to use your hands and fingers for makeup application. This will give you a very smooth finish to your skin that looks flawless!
In this makeup tutorial I will show you how to apply foundation with your fingers to achieve a smooth finish. I will show you how to prep your skin so that you end up with a smooth and flawless foundation look. I'll explain to you how to use your fingers in the correct way to achieve a smooth foundation look.

I loved the video and technique. Its funny that people today haven't be shown how to apply foundation with their fingers. Our fingers were the only tools we had in the 80s to spread our EL Double Wear that didn't have a pump. LOL Love it!

Nina- I tried this today when I was doing my makeup and my skin looked fabulous. I used the foundation over sunscreen & forgot the primer and it looked so natural. And I used half of the foundation that I normally use. Thanks for an awesome video and wonderful tips. Let's see how you apply concealer with your fingers.

I always used my fingers when I first started wearing makeup back in the 80s. Since then I've bought brushes and sponges because.. I thought that's what you were supposed to do. Recently getting back into makeup again. Bought a lovely foundation and put it on with a sponge, it was coming off within a couple of hours and a tiny bit of sweat, cakey and awful. Same thing with the brush. Tried today with my fingers and it lasted all day. I'm so happy. Why did I ever change? (PS did use a primer for all methods) PLUS instead of a big powder brush for my setting powder I used an good old fashioned powder puff and pressed it in. Best finish in AGES.

I’m late into this but I find some of what you say interesting. You say ‘if you want a natural finish’. My question is (and I’m an absolute makeup virgin like absolute) why wouldn’t you want a natural finish? Sorry if this is a dumb question 😅 But I should say this video was really useful. I actually tried the KVD apple serum foundation that she uses in this video during my trip to Texas. It held up very well in the humid climate there. I'd highly recommend trying that one. 😊

I've also found the IT cosmetics CC matte foundation holds quite well & its spf 40 I think. Well I came off a night shift & got burnt falling asleep in the garden on all but my face so it definitely works lol 😝

Back in the day , we just applied with our fingers. It was normal. I’ve noticed now that I have mature skin. When I do under the eye area , I get it in the lines. So I’ve just started using a brush and sponge.

I think people prefer to blend with fingers for precision or any other logical reason, I like to do it with my fingers because I’m too lazy to clean my sponges or brushes 😆

Been having trouble with my tools lately (big sponge gal) but I’ve noticed as I get “older” my skin just wasn’t about the sponge any more. Many patchy spots and just was always ended up looking cakey. Even after skin prep. Been trying my fingers recently and hot diggity dog. Huge difference! I’ struggle with hormonal acne flare up and was always so worries the fingers were a “dirty” way to apply the product. Nope nope nope. Soooo much better. No patches. Soooo much smoother after I then defuse with a damp sponge my skin make never looked better. . ❤ great video

Not all skin types and ppl will get a good effect from applying with fingers. Textured skin - you’d need to use a lot of product to really get a smooth finish; a sponge works much better. Long-wear matte foundation most likely won’t blend well.
