Sunscreen has started gaining some much required, well-deserved traction in Indian skincare spaces. I mean, when have we EVER slathered on sunscreen before we stepped out into the sun? The only sunscreen application I remember seeing ostensibly was while watching cricket matches, where players would have a thick blob of the thing plopped on their nose and the area under the eyes...not even the whole face!

The right sunscreen will help your skin tackle sunburn, early signs of ageing, improve your skin barrier and protect your skin from melanoma, or skin cancer. It’s understandable that you might get intimidated while shopping for a good sunscreen, since now there really are a plethora of options. But not to worry-that’s what we’re here for! Look for a sunscreen with the following terms on the bottle.
HOW SHOULD I APPLY IT?
Experts recommend applying at least 4-5 FTUs on sunscreen on the face, neck and ears around 15 minutes prior to stepping out in the sun. for the body, it’s recommended to use a shot glass-full of sunscreen 15 minutes before you head out. Reapply after 2 hours and especially so if you’re stepping into water, or are involved in any activity that requires you rubbing the product off the skin.
