Take aways 1. Step scores are important 2. Take step 3 before applying Why ? Coz of the programs board passing rate 3. Think like the program director admitting you Hmm Img , x scores , don’t know about his school, culture, will he fit here, will he pass the boards What you should do ? a) open match a resident and get your list b) look into schools img history c) your schools alumni in the program is a big advantage - ask them for insider advice / gen help d) apply to those schools first apply to many 4. Lors, personal letter 5. At electives a)Come early , look sharp, impress everyone ? Coz everyone’s watching you and all of them will be asked - how was your experience with this guy + the Sr comes 30 min early and has all the responsibility so when he sees you early too(+) b)Be vulnerable , ask for help with presentations - present to batch mates,r be good at presenting c) ask yourself - how can help this team do better Interpersonal skills, communication, teamwork etc

US-IMG vs non-US IMG exactly what kind of difference does that make in terms of matching? Also, is this something that I can cover with “networking” i.e. doing clinical rotations in the programme?

from your experience, do residencies put weighting on the 'university Kudos' when giving places? Like, how good the medical school is, or is it all just based upon your skills, grades etc

Great video! If your medschool is partnered with a US medical school like I know our one is partnered to one in ohio(they offer electives to the best two students of the class for free) and you do that elective....does that show that you have good medical school?

I have a doubt, basically, if you apply to match after 2022 irrespective of if you had a 3 digit step 1 or wrote in the pass-fail era, the program will see it as only pass-fail for everyone ? or show 3 digits of those who have and pass of who wrote past 2022?

How much YOG is too much to apply in ophthalmology in US? For ex., is doing a residency in family medicine in Canada (2 years), then doing USMLEs for one year, then applying the next year too much? I Graduated in 2020 in Canada

This is what is given on the official USMLE site. but it is contrary to what you are saying. Please clarify.

Can you please explain and advise how to get a visa. I know Syrian IMGs who are scared to go through the whole process (very expensive) but get rejected from getting the visa in the end
