I like this video because it's informative, but more importantly, its got that good Pokemon Black/White music, and I'm a man of culture if I do say so myself.

Quick question if you don't mind helping me out, you mentioned that players will often only hold shield if they know your throws won't kill them, and I feel like I get stuck in situations like that a lot, where I'm playing a character without kill throws, and my opponent is able to safely shield in situations where I would have an opportunity to push them. What do you think I should do to beat that? (I'm looking for a little more then just rinse and repeat until throws start killing)

bananaboy, you inspired me to become a yoshi main. i always loved yoshi but i couldnt deal with the stress and hate i got for being a bad yoshi player so i switched to bowser and lost almost every game i played. i turned to your channel for help and saw a fellow yoshi player, that was giving tips on how to improve. initally i just worked on my bowser, and became ok with him. i was having fun, but wasnt seeing the success i wanted. I then saw your video about character hate and decided to watch it. taking the advice to heart, along with your awesome yoshi plays, i realized that i dont give a fuck what people think and now main yoshi at the top 3 of my local pr. thank you, bananaboy, from the bottom of my heart, for letting me become what i was always meant to be.

Great video keep up the content! I’m a very aggressive player and I don’t have a whole lot of fun playing “smart” lol, but I know sometimes you have to if you want to win. My lack of patience gets me bodied a lot (mainly because of campy players. I just don’t find it fun camping and I don’t see how anyone would, but if they’re desperate for a win I suppose it’s their best option lmao)

I already had fundamentals, combos, match up knowledge, etc. But I never really learned how to approach. On a Discord server someone told me I played to aggressively and it kept getting me punished. Then at my first big tournament, I was told I was too defensive with Falco against Ness. Because I was lost on how to improve I started losing passion for the game. After seeing this video, my passion came back as I just improved. When I finally have a disposable income, I would like to donate to you or something. As Mewtwo, I love playing on the corner and baiting them to come to me. It works at all levels, people don't like to avoid/shield/parry Shadow balls. They end up grabbed and yeeted to the blast zone.

Once you condition the opponents to spotdodge after your tomahawk grabs, then you commit Luigi by empty hopping and winning by doing absolutely nothing and punishing spotdodge.

I always forget the shield button exists. I never really played against other people and didn't bother with online matches until smash 4 so I never really consider when or how to shield because it never felt necessary against AI

Imagine you want to use a grab to punish your enemy, but then you realise you are playing as Luigi.

I feel like in neutral you can legit just attack which beats shield if pressured good, and attack if they are grabbing, then attack. And then if they start to attack you shield. So I think a good strat is to just attack and shield. I hope someone can tell me I’m wrong and how I can improve my approach strategy?

Can you do a video about how to have better defenses? As in going against projectiles, getting out of combos, Di etc
