Excellent video. You knocked it out of the park on showing the action and features. I'm liking everything I'm seeing. Waiting on a CDG right now. Going 6GT with the first barrel.

Thank you so much for watching and commenting! The gt seems to be a popular choice with this action!

I’m worried that the exposed extractor spring and that little ‘cocking’ pin may caused issues, due to dirt and vibration🤔

I don’t know, time will tell here in Utah the dust gets tested thoroughly!

all of those tiny parts yells at me that its not a good idea to "field strip" this action. i'd want to disassemble this in a watchmakers cabinet so parts cant go far if they are dropped or a spring wants to take a trip.

Even on my bench I felt like things were going to fly around! I’d be perfectly fine swapping bolt heads in the field but that’s it!

Awesome ideas, but is it robust?

That we won’t know for a while, until a few people have a few barrels through ‘em. I don’t know why it wouldn’t be though considering ARC and their previous actions

One thing i wanted to mention to you when putting in the bolt, i think maybe what you’re having difficulty with reinserting is the mechanical ejector has to go in the slot in the head sometimes for me it kicks out since the bolt release and the mechanical ejector aren’t tied together.. i think this is why it’s finicky to get the bolt back in. 🧐

I thought it was that as well, but I believe it’s actually the position of the ejector in the action. Can’t be too far forward or too far back, has to be just right. Once I got that figured out it’s a lot easier to put in and out. It was a bit frustrating to be honest, and so far the only quasi complaint I have with it. Though it’s not really a complaint so much as it took a minute to figure out. All good now. Another thing is as an action it’s getting moved around a ton more, when it’s fully built it will essentially get the bolt removed and replaced while sitting level on bipods or similar and I’m sure it won’t have any issues then. Thanks for watching!

Ted's is awesome designing these things. His video production is lacking :D Thanks for taking the time to put this out.

Can you run proof savage prefits with a barrel nut?
@ShootingTheBC
@ShootingTheBC Год назад
Technically yes you can, and some people have seemed to have success with it. With no reel feed ramps built in the conical breech is to ensure smooth feeding, which the savage barrels don’t have. I wouldn’t personally buy one to try out, but if I had one laying around I wouldn’t hesitate to try it out before getting one with a conical breech made.
