In this video we will outline how to artificially inseminate at home, as well as the step-by-step method we used to artificially inseminate and the supplies we used to do it! About the collection cup part at 7:09 I understand it was probably more difficult to draw the sample from that size cup but on the flip side to that, having a small collection cup could also make it more difficult for the donor to not spill any of the live sample. Bigger cup might be a safer choice.

Thank you for sharing. Ive got a Disposable Artificial Insemination Rod, a speculum and a syringe. They say staying in position for 15 minutes after the act helps. I have not seen these cups yet. I dont know if i will need them. I hope we will get a bigger chance of getting it right. I know they do it with farm animals like this to increase chances. Well, only one way of finding out if it works for humans too, they have IUI, so it should be exactly the same (???). Under the microscope it looks good, seems to be working just fine.. Its always some sort of sketchy doing this, but it certainly not while its someones life, and that is what matters at the end of the day. Greetings, Jeff

I’m confused. What do you mean by “on ovulation day”. Do you mean when you hit peak? Or 1-2 days after peak? I had a failed attempt last month trying on the second peak day. This time I’ve tried on two high days before peak.

Hi its really very informative video. have you tried this insemination with fresh sperm ? Once we ejaculated the semen into container, do we need to wait for its liquification or can we directly draw it into syringe and we can deposit the semen into vagina. Please clarify these.

You should wait a minimum of 15mins to allow for the seamen to settle and liquify

We are glad our content has been helpful for you! In our experience the plastic tip of the syringe can be a little rough around the edges which can lead to mild discomfort, but not too painful. The Mosie Baby syringe is round at the top and is a more comfortable alternative, if you are worried. Wishing you the best of luck.

This is a great question and one that is important to ask a medical professional but from our knowledge and experience, since ici and iui procedures require the sperm and egg to meet in the fallopian tube and travel down into the uterus, it is unclear if either of these options would be viable for your situation. IVF on the other hand, (where an egg is fertilized outside of the body and placed directly into the uterus after an incubation period) may be a better option. AGAIN, we are not medical professionals and there is so much out there that we are still learning so it's unclear how possible each type of insemination would be for your specific situation. If you do have a consultation with a doctor/specialist we would love to know more! Wishing you the best of luck on your TTC journey.

So I have a question, how long can you leave that specimen cup open for? I thought you couldn’t pull out a sample open in the air like that?

Well we are not medical professionals, but from what we have learned about fresh samples, the sooner you use it the better. I have read if you need to wait, keep it warm like hold the cup between your thighs. As for the sample in this video, it's fake and was not used. For demonstration purposes only. There are some folks out there that ship fresh sperm. We have not done much research on that as we have not gone that route. I believe there may be an additive they use to keep the sample alive. Something to consider looking into if you have to wait to use your sample!

In our experience a 5ml could work, just make sure to get as much air out of the syringe as you can before using it. We hope this helps. Good luck on your journey! #babydust

Did you mix the semen sample with water or something.. Because its thick in nature it will be hard to get by the syringe?

Nope we were able to get it into the syringe with no issue! Just have to suck it up slowly.

This is not intracervical insemination! You didn't inject the sperm into your cervix there's a difference.There are different methods and you ought to get the terminology right so people don't waste there time.Intracervical insemination involves a syringe with a catheter or cannula attachment which is injected just slightly into the cervix where the sperm is deposited.Putting a syring into your vagina and depositing sperm is just called Artificial Insemination.

We have since added updated short and long form video that talks more about the different types of at-home insemination (NI, NI+, PI, PI+ and AI). That's a great question! Some of the most popular sperm banks we know of our California Cryobank, Seattle Sperm Bank, and Fairfax Cryobank. We have personally used Cryo Gam Colorado. How long do you have to wait to inseminate the sperm close to the cervix. And how long is the sperm good for? Do you have to freeze it if you have extra or? Say you have a sperm donor in a another state would it be okay for him to mail it and then use it?
