Thank you very much. I have been looking for the basics for Ascension. Everyone clicks right through and do not explain about how crystals are for a particular hero nor type of crystals for different levels.
As someone with an asc2 on a character, I can tell you that the green crystal resources are still used. I've been told that some of the higher level asc2 glyphs do take the vibrant crystals, but the crystal type doesn't change the second you ascend. Another thing is the focused vs spread of resources. While it might be good to focus on a particular hero, spreading the resources to a certain extent will get you more of the Branches resources. Thus depending on one's situation, there is the potential for it to be better to spread at least some resources so that you can level up the Branch more. For example if you're using Twins + Celeste you might split int crystals between Krista and Lars at least a bit, but then take the agi crystals and split them up as much as reasonably possible. 100 agi into a single person would get you 42 stars, but if you put that into the first asc skill of 4 characters you would get 164 stars. That's a 4x larger gain of stars for Branch levels, which are then applied to three characters on your team (Lars, Krista, and Celeste). If you've focused and it takes 400 crystals for a single level, then you're looking at only ~46 stars, or 42x8 stars if you put all of that into the 50 crystal options (assuming you had 8 agi heroes you were interested in powering up over time, i would recommend putting the resources into characters one doesn't care about solely for Branches resources). So spreading at least some resources at the lower levels can be better for you due to the Branch levels that it can enable you to get. It isn't as simple and cut and dry as in your example.
Thanks so much for the detailed response! It seems I was misinformed about what resources are required tiers 2+, so thanks for your corrections. I suspect that keeping focused allocation will still get you the most/fastest utilization of all the resource types, but unfortunately I can't seem to locate any hard data on the costs for each node. So I can't prove or disprove the theory right now.
Love the approach and agree but unless I am missing something you are forced to spread out to other heroes ascension levels to get enough ancient wisdom crystals to level your branches. But again maybe I am missing something
This is true, but I think it is only a short-term problem. I believe Eternal Seed will be more of a limiter of branch development than wisdom crystal once we start to reach a point where we are utilizing all 6 of the hero ascension resource types instead of accumulating vibrant/radiant/insignia/greater insignia as unspent resources. It takes something like 25 and 1/4 heroes at max ascension to achieve all of the necessary wisdom crystal for all 7 branches to max out. My projected income has me maxing out 25 heroes ascension about 1400 days before maxing out eternal seed.

Is it possible for you to share the spreadsheet or the data source? It would be great to know what stats get updated in what order.
