JK Rowling was rejected numerous times before someone actually read her manuscript and decided to publish the "Harry Potter"...Makes me wonder how all those who had rejected her feel now...

Thank you sir. due to childhood conditioning that it was a virtuous daughter who NEVER asked. My mother would proudly tell us that she NEVER asked, i wanted to be saintly and virtuous too (😂). Today, at 57, i finally understood that asking doesn't mean 'set in stone/never gonna happen' or either saintly or virtuous. it simply meant that i should silently accept that i shouldn't have dreams or ambitions. I have a lot yet to learn. Lesson number 1 is 'ask'. Rejection is not easy but i will keep asking. Thank you so very much.

I do have a fear of rejection. Mostly because my family told me to stop asking people for things that I was bothering them and to do everything myself. I have a class on How to Start a Subscription Box Company based on my book. Today I will ask people to take the class. I will also ask people to publish my book, Mermaid Madness and represent my screenplay, Mermaid Madness. Thanks for the Encouragement Jack.

So true. I was brainwashed by my mother to never ask for anything. If I even asked for a little sympathy out of desperation she would list all the reasons why she couldn't (wouldn't ) help and how bad I was to go on a trip where the coach broke down etc . Then she would list all the family members who 'could' not help...it was also totally Wrong to accept help from anyone outside the family even if they offered without me asking. If you prayed for anything she tells us God says No. It's taken me over 50 years to realise that she does this because she cannot bear to be made to feel uncomfortable. My needing help now and again makes her feel guilty because she is a Narcissist. Jesus himself told us to keep asking and that anything we ask from God to believe we have it and we will. Mark 11 vs 24. We only need to ask God once but people maybe more.... JK Rowling had her first book rejected 12 times.
