Thx. Curing time for the liquid gasket material? I install the cover flush but finger tight. Wait 1 hr then torque to specs. Used permatex optimum Grey.
2010 Toyota Corolla repair manual said to release tensioner hook turn crankshaft to counterclockwise then clockwise. Now I have 2016 Toyota Corolla 2xr-fae should turn clockwise to release the hook in the beginning?this is another youtuber told me to turn clockwise to release hook.i dont feel to open engine cover and i dont have camera,and you need to buy new engine cover gasket too and extra.
Peter, I have a question. Why wasn't the cover cleaned of all old silicone before installation? I like your videos, great content, excellent footage... but what is up with the crazy amount of silicone?? It's too much and looks messy...
hi, when you install silicone on timing chain cover does any ofthe hole is an oil hole, i assume all holes are for the bolt and not oil passage, becausee silicone can cover the oil hole

also when you rotate the engine after aligning the timing mark on chain , will the timing mark on chain align again when i bring the no 1 cylinder to tdc. in case of timing belt mark on belt wont align after the 1st rotation. is same true fo timing chain
