We have these things ALL OVER the facility I work at, and never have a problem with them. Amazingly, not even any problem with galling, which stainless does ALL the time with other hardware we have around here...
You'd be surprised how often this happens. Usually an operator just not paying attention. You really need to double or triple check that the system is depressurized.
@@24680kong One needs to utilize a proper LOTO Program. Then there is no way that one can end up opening a system and exposing themselves to hazardous energy if one uses LOTO properly. It is hard to believe that ANYONE does this but I know that they do.
Is it acceptable to use a very small amount of anti seize on the thread to prevent galling? I have some that we disconnect and reconnect many times. They get tight before they are actually tight , I assume it is the friction from the stainless.

I am no expert but I have used the many years. You should replace the fitting. This is not natural under proper care and cleaning of the threads. Inspect the threads of the nut and union and I bet they are damaged, look especially at the first round since you are having issues getting it started.

Wait a sec. We have always been told not to use a round bladed tube cutter. We're supposed to use a hacksaw type of cutter. If you look at 1:13 that tube was cut with a hacksaw - not a round bladed cutter. What gives?

Hello Swagelok world. I'm using 1/8" tubing's and fittings. (4ft of tubbing , 2x Ball Valves, 2 Tee connections) But I'm having pressure leak when testing with N2 at 1200psi. The leak rate is about 2 psi in 10min. I (supposedly) followed the recommendations to make the connections. I have been using SNOOP , but I cannot detect the leak. I've inspected and tightened ever connection, but still have pressure leak . Any idea what could be wrong? Anyone recommend using a sealant? Thanks!
