I got my C-Tug R conversion kit today and a new kick stand. After watching several videos whose method simply would not work for separating the cart, I came across this one and Tommy’s method worked like a charm!! Thanks man!!
I'm glad to help. Railblaza just came out with a new cart that fits pontoon type hulls like Hobies. I might get the conversion kit. Here's a link to the new cart amzn.to/3HjsErE.
I honestly think detaching the main 'scissor' mechanism, say for thorough cleaning and storage, the hardest; and most frustrating part. Watching others, they make it look so easy!
I agree. It sometimes works when you press the cross section on your knee or on the side of your kayak. It doesn't all the time. I use this mostly for my canoe. I end up just keeping it together most times. If I find a better way, I'll make another video about it.
You are very welcome. Thanks for the kinds words. I'm glad you found this video helpful. Let me know if there are any other types of videos you would like to see. Thanks for watching.
Oh sweet pickles, for the love of all things fermented, just make sure your axles are pointed away from each other and put the wheels on before the pads.
Just got the West Marine version of this cart. It was on sale for $111.99 with free shipping. Difference is the pads are blue, not green and the straps are plain, no logo. Also the plastic is not glossy, seems less cheap. It game with zero instructions so thank you for the video.
Nitpick: at 6:35, you put the wheel on inside-out, although it doesn't seem to make any difference to the operation of the cart (I did the same thing, first time I assembled mine).
Nice catch. I only used these wheels a few times. I use the Sandtrax wheels most of the time. Now I only use the cart for my canoe. Thanks for watching.
I have the earlier version with inflatable wheels. I like the thing but find the single strap tends to slip down the contour of the hull Unless I put the cart at the widest part of the boat.
After using it for a few months, I have to do the same thing. There is a mod that helps it stay more snug on the Outback. I'll have a video on that coming soon.
