This tutorial will teach you how to attach embroidered patches onto your knit and crochet items without flattening your work or making it shiny. Using a traditional iron often flattens out your work and damages the yarn, but this method will help you out!

worked a treat! I used it to put a patch on a man’s knitted hat. Thanks for the video!

Thank you for this I have knitted a large throw for a child and the thought of sewing on 5:02 the 40 to 50 small patches on has left the project sitting for months and months… will knit some swatches and practice… what a great idea for those who hate sewing and cleaner / neater than the dozens of fabric glues bearing in mind the project is for a child there doesn’t seem to be a glue robust enough to withstand the rough and tumble plus laundering a child causes and feel the products were safe enough for putting in their mouths as children do… Note to self… learn Intarsia 😂

I’ve seen suggestions elsewhere to stitch it on if you want it to stay after several washes. How has this method held up under the wash for you? A friend of mine wants a cheeseburger cardigan and I’d love to toss a few burger patches on one for her!

I have a throw made for a young child. I have tried sewing on the patches and as there are about 40 it’s too long and boring a task and placing them accurately can be quite tricky. I am going to make some swatches to practice the skill but it’s a great idea with the heat gun

Are you using 1500w? What is the setting? I want to buy the same one you used.

Do you know if this works with chunky yarn too?

Why not just heat the patch and put it on like a sticker with tweezers?
