Can the ban-roll be reused more, than once? Once the edges are a bit frayed do you cut the frayed edges off and make a new edge?

Another nice thing is that you can reuse the ban-roll until it is used up. Just trim a clean edge and begin again.

I don't even trim mine until the edges start to look ragged. It's reusable for awhile :)

Another example of learning something new everyday! In 50 years of home sewing, i’ve never even heard of ban-roll. What a fabulous way to get a uniform narrow hem.

@@JessieJansen61 Ask your sewing supplier for buckram. Ban-Roll just a product brand name for buckram. My mother’s aunt made wedding gowns for wealthy society women back in the day. She used buckram (It is same as Ban-Roll).🧵😊💖

I did tailoring for almost 40 years and never knew this technique. Now I am retired and don't hem many things, but I am going to find something to try this on. Thank you for all of your videos. I wish I had known this years ago!

I love using Ban Roll! I do a lot of formal and bridal dress hems. This product makes a perfect hem every time, even on chiffon. Your video is excellent!!

Same here!! A rolled hem foot works great if it is just a flat piece of fabric, but if you are hemming a garment and there is a side seam it just does not work!! This is a much better option!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! This is THE BEST tutorial I’ve ever watched. I have always struggled with every method of rolled hems I’ve ever tried but this is literally the stuff of miracles. I have just successfully finished shortening a prom dress with three layers of chiffon and lining and if anything it looks better than the original hems. thank you so much for sharing this! I can't get over how much easier this technique is than trying to do a baby hem (for me, anyway!) I just used it to hem some flutter sleeves with a 1/8" hem, and the end result is so beautifully uniform.

I love this... do you sew on the " fringe" part of the ban-roll? I can't see the exact placement of the stitches. You videos are always enhanced by your lovely voice!

I wish I had known this method about 4 months ago. I had a bridesmaid dress to hem for my niece and I think this would have been easier than the rolled hem method
