To have the sorted data on a different sheet it would be the exact same way as shown in the video. Except you would just begin the formula in a different sheet instead of having it the on the same sheet. The only difference would be that if you're putting ranges or cell references into the formula, you would have to click back into the sheet with your data before selecting them to put into the formula. But basically every step is the same.
am wanting to re-order "whole columns intact" across a sheet. Want these columns to move about based on what is in a particular cell at top of each column.. The cells would fall all in the same Row.. such as Row (1).. Is that possible? so for example if atop each column is a code in row (1) There may be hundred columns..... but in each; in cells of row (1) top of each column; each would have one of maybe 7 different codes placed in top cell of each row . Re-ordering (aka sort)- Am wanting to move all of a column intact that have a particular code in top cell of that column to the left. Start point for first column after sort would be ay Column (C,1). Again want whole complete column to move so they all end up in the first set of 10 columns. (their would never be more than ten instances of a particular code. LIkely never more than 8... just leaving some buffer for odd times and calling it ten. ) Dont care what the rest of the columns orders is in after the first ten..... as long as the content of each column's cells remains unchanged and ready to be re-sorted based on my input of one of the seven codes Or will I have to use a whole different function besides sort... say something like a "Find" or "Get" function if there is such a thing
