And when we delete the between rows , the sequence changes. It s not working

If you enter “=row()-1” (without the quotations) it will work for you. You can change “-1” to whatever you need it do be to make up the difference of where the actual list starts verses the row number

I tried formula =Row(A1) in cell A2... seemed to work... in case you are still wondering about that 🤷🏼‍♀️

Try =ROW()-1

I am currently trying to work out a better way to do this, but the solution I have at the moment is to find an empty cell and add this code =COUNTIF(A2:A1001,"*") This looks in column A and counts how many rows have information in them. Then I type this code in the first cell where I want the number list to start =SEQUENCE($M$1,1,1,1) You will need to change M and the first number 1 to whichever cell you put the countif code in, so if you put the countif code in F6, you'd change it to =SEQUENCE($F$6,1,1,1) The two $'s are to lock the code to that cell. You may already know some of this but I thought I'd explain it in case you haven't come across it. This code also keeps cells blank when not in use but it doesn't shift the number down/lock it to the row so you have to be careful adding rows in the middle of a dataset as it moves the ID which can be an issue depending what you are using it for.

=SEQUENCE(COUNTA(A2:A1000)) This is a much more elegant solution that does the same as my first post, it will count how many entries there are in Column A (for 1000 rows, but you can change this number to whatever you want) and then it will create a sequence wherever it sees an entry in Column A. This does create the same issue where it will shift down the IDs/numbers when you create a new row in the middle of a dataset. If you simply add data at the bottom of the table, it will just keep giving it an ID/number. You can also write text before the Sequence code to add text, e.g. ="No. "&SEQUENCE(COUNTA(A2:A1000)) would make a list that looks like No. 1 No. 2 No.3 etc..

If you start at number 1800 hover over the bottom right corner of the cell, a cross will appear. Next hold down the control button( will turn to small + sign) then just drag down. Hope that helped.
