Thank You So Much for opening my eyes ❤ Before watching this video I thought I grow out of anime and losing interest in anime and other stuffs like studies But after this video I came to realise that we won't grow out of our hobbies ( anime ) but getting tired of it ❤ Part of Burnout is us . Aside from watching more or not exploring other genres. I think sometimes its our lives get in the way and stress of our reality is reflected on our hobbies and how we see it ✌️
When I first got in to the hobby I went to the local video rental store (blockbuster and Hollywood video for me) and just went down the line, rented and watched everything I could get my hands on. This helped me find the genre’s I’ve enjoyed (which is several) and I can switch things up so I don’t get tired of any one particular kind of genre. I also watch plenty of live action (HK action/kung fu, korean dramas/period pieces as examples) to keep things even more interesting. Just my 2 cents worth as an anime oldtaku.
My count on MAL is over 2000 and I've been struggling with some form of burnout for a couple of years. I like to watch classic stuff but the well is running dry on the true classics I've not seen yet. There are alot of modern shows with high ratings I've not seen but I rarely get hyped for a single cour show these days. I did a bunch of rewatches last year which helped, this year I haven't so maybe I'm due a few. Right now I'm currently making my way through a bunch of OVAs I've been meaning to get to. Again I've watched most of the all time classics so it's been hit and miss over the last week or so.
Thanks for the case study! You bring up an important point: You'll watch anime at different rates as you get more experience. New fans will naturally watch tons of anime, while more experienced ones will slow down, maybe only watching anime once a week.
