How do you confirm that breakout occurs? 1. Two Candles with their solid bodies (not wick) must close above the resistance and below the support line. 2. You need to wait until or unless price comes back to the resistance/support line he broke recently and retest it. 3. Due to high momentum, one big engulfing candle break that resistance or support zone swiftly also confirms the breakout. If did not get any of these conditions happening around the resistance or support zone, do not enter into the trade if you are a breakout trader. Best advice for you.

I def agree on it needing to be 2 candles and not 1 to close above or below the range, because seen thousand of false breakouts when the 1st candle closes above or below the range, and the 2nd candle goes right back in and moves in the opp direction

Unless you have the proper tools available to trade with, all you are doing is gambling.. my message to anyone reading this is to never take up or invest into this type of trading as its a perfect example of retail horse shit!!! you will certainly never make money learning to trade in any format like this.. when will people wake up and understand that trend lines, resistance points and candle shapes have absolutely nothing to with why the market moves in a certain direction.. no candle shape on the planet should be an indication to make a trade. Its just a pure gamble in any sense and this is why 99% of all retail traders get flattened on the live markets.

I made this mistake a lot (thankfully I’m using a demo mode atm to practice and learn) and I lost profits repeatedly. Now I pay real close attention to wicks and I don’t put in more than just 1 bet at a time if I’m not truly sure. Either way I’ll wait and see a little while longer how everything is going to go if I’m making short timed bets. It’s been working pretty well so far.

If it breaks a level, don't JUST wait for the retest. Wait for the next Higher Low in an uptrend , or the next Lower High in a downtrend. Those will either form as a retest or past the level. Sometimes price retests a broken level way later, so in those cases you enter from the HigherLow / LowerHigh

read the 10-k , there's numbers telling you if the market is completely manipulated and they just wait for you to pick a trade. Majority of stocks are overvalued by 2-3x times its value and the market will never allow it to drop. In long for you to even break even on a long trade we're talking about 3-6 years for a short trade you just want to scoop up the money and you don't need candlesticks for this. You follow the pattern of the trade rather than the candlesticks. Candlesticks is more useful for long trades. Short trades is about the trade direction.

I'm tempted to short a little as soon as the potential false breakout, if it drops then maybe add; more false breakouts than I'd like. Maybe short 1 and if it works add 2 (total short 3), if it keeps moving up; buy 5 (to be long 4.) But, not on leaders; though some can crash faster than some amazingly fast rises.
