I'm definitely seeing forward to more videos from you. Right now I am studying so I don't have the time or money to do it. But if my plan succeeds, I will be leaving for the spring of 2022. So I still have some time to plan the trip. :)

Trekkers, really, don't even buy bottled water up there. When you're there, you see the influx of trekkers (for real), many times we got trekkers traffic jam. It's horrible how much waste from the plastic bottles and those alike. They don't bring these waste down. They're not degradable. Bring your own filter or use the tablets. Really.

No need to be so polite about them sneaking you rotten food or re-bottled water. Its a scumbag thing to do regardless of where you are or how many people you have to deal with.
@gobihoukou1

In principle, I agree wholeheartedly. Problem is, up there, you need them more than they need you and generally, it is not wise to be rude to people you depend on. In your home town, you can tell the shitty place waiter what you think about him and go to another restaurant no problem. But In foreign village where everybody knows everybody, talks to everybody and is friend with everybody, you are an outsider who just pissed off whole local community. Not a great plan.

I live at 6000 feet above sea level. Water boils at less than usual 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100° C) here, and it cools off quickly, too. Since the EBC trek is much higher than 6000 feet, I'd be concerned that water boils at a much lower temperature and wouldn't kill all the potential germs in the water. I assume that's not a problem since hot tea is a major way to keep warm and hydrated on the trek, but I still can't help but wonder why the "not so boiled" water is still safe to drink.

Ooo very interesting point made there. Just did a quick Google and at Everest Base Camp, the boiling point of water is 94ºC. The EU/UK food standards agency states a temperature of over 60ºC is required to make food safe to eat/drink.

are eggs included in this analysis of yours?
@VJDilip
@VJDilip 2 года назад
I avoided eggs too during ABC trek and will do the same during EBC. It was annoying to eat the same basic veg food (Dal Bhaat and Porridge) through out 8 days of ABC trek, but they helped me remain healthy. One downside of eating Dal Bhaat often is, the lentils and potatoes in them makes your stomach bloat.
