The best way to get better results with no adverse complications is consulting an Ophthalmologist specialized in Ophtalmic Plastic (Oculoplastic) Surgery. General Plastic Surgeons should not be allowed to do this surgery.
Thank you. I'm scheduled for February 10th. Your video is very reassuring. What should I do before the surgery? I've heard Anicare and no alcohol for 2 weeks. Are there always antibiotics?
You should be scared about eyelid surgery scars. My scar is still raised from the upper eyelid surgery and it has been 15 years!!! My doctor's office said to just keep pushing the skin against the bone under the eyelid scar and they never told me how long to hold it against the bone or how hard to press it with my finger. It has been so frustrating and I try to hide it with eye shadow but then the line still shows even worse. I'm about ready to use a fibroblast pen to the lines.
Thank you Dr. De Silva for all the valuable information. You speak calmly, good flow , not rushing. It's always a pleasure to listen to you. Thanks again.
Hi ,I'm booked in on 21st April 2023 at coramed beauty surgery in wroclaw, Poland. I have done a lot of research on place and it has won a lot of awards but was just wondering if you know it for it's awards thank you.
I had upper blepharoplasty not too long ago and the surgeon didn't take enough skin off so now it has to be redone. He had used dissolvable sutures and you can see the tracks while my neighbour had hers done with regular sutures and the results were much better. This video helped clarify my concern so I will be requesting non-dissolvable sutures. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the great information. Question, it's been 2 months since my blepharoplasty, and this week II sleep flat and I woke up more swollen. How long should I sleep upright?
What is the best silicone gel for scarring? I was told that silicone gel should only be applied on the ends. Is that true? Can I apply them directly to the scars on the lids?
Is it required to take antibiotics for the eyelid surgery? I have a strong history of c diff and a lot of hospital stays from it! I always worry about taking more antibiotics
I had upper bleth a few days ago. I am extremely concerned. The surgeon came before the surgery and placed a marker dot above my eyebrows and was told the marking will take place in the surgery room- well- this was not done so "I' could see it too- and not sure it was done at all. After- looking at the stitching- it was totally different, then I realized there were 2 surgeons?? each had an eye to work on. I called and left a message for the doctor to call back. She never did. I was told it would take 1-2 hrs. it took less than a half hour. Stitches on one eye (surgeon I selected)are virtually invisible- stitching on other (unknown surgeon)looks like stitching on a baseball. Also- I can't get stitches out for 2 weeks. Should I be concerned?
@Cobalt Dancer Long story short- each eye is shaped differently now. Both need to be corrected. Dissolvable stitches were put in which I specifically asked NOT to use. When I asked about it, Doc said it does NOT make any difference whatsoever with scars. The other surgeon was a practicing surgeon. I am livid about not being asked first- I would have said no. These are my EYES!! My follow up , all my concerns were discussed. Although I fought off the tears during the appt. they just flowed. I'm quite upset about the treatment all the way around. I felt like I was just part of the assembly line -The outer corners of my eyes totally different , one angles upwards the other downwards. Although this was just to remove extra skin from lids for vision, I did not for a second think it would disfigure the natural shape of my eyes. Very disappointed with the work. I now have to get a brow lift for one eyebrow- just to correct and even out the shape. ugh. At my expense.
@@codant11 ugh, I'm SO sorry to hear this and I too am having lots of issues 4 weeks post. I have to shut my eyes every hour, cannot be in the wind, by 9 pm I'm DONE, as my eyes are tight and dry and hurt. I sleep with humidifiers and Saran Wrap over my eyes . I'm told I have chemosis (sp?). I have replaced my under eye bags w/ swelling so the net result... And my upper bleph scars are not symmetrical, one doesn't follow the crease. Ugh, tears have flowed for me too.
This was well presented and informative. I had upper Bleph 2 days ago and can clearly see my ocular plastic was meticulous. After watching your video I went back to my 10x mirror and saw exactly what you’re talking about hiding the scar. He used radio frequency which as I understand is more precise, less bleeding, promotes collagen and has less scaring. I know my results will be fabulous! Thank you for this educational video from New Jersey USA!
Hi Dr, I had my surgery but wondering about the spry the surgeon use when he open the eye lid uper and lower . Smell like burning my skin. Can you please tell me what that spry is and why you use it. Thank you
My ocular plastic surgeon said to use vitam E oil. It keeps the incision moist. My stitches were removed in a week. Outstanding results! Surgeon said to eat pineapple before and after. It did in fact help with bruising as did Arnica gel around the eyes.
