Do you feel stuck in the 9-5 trap? Are you over 40 feeling confused with no direction?This is how i currently feel as a 40 year old immigrant woman.
I am sharing my life story, experiences, and lessons learnt, which could be helpful, to anyone seeking a new start, motivation or comfort knowing you are not alone.

9-5 truly sucks!!! You have time for almost nothing except work. Courage!!! You are a still young and a strong woman. You can still make it. You can start all over. Trust God and continue to do the needful.

I feel sorry for people that take the 9-5 like a religion, the desire to be successful with promotion and pay to be able to afford and show off the material things to other that you are doing well… I am not against hardwork, success and planning for the future but you have to take it easy on yourself, enjoy your family and live moderately. Always remember your body is not a machine, if you destroy your body physically/mentally you will be replaced as quickly as possible. You will lose and your family will lose too, you will then feel like you have been used and dumped by your employer.

thank you for being so vulnerable. As a daughter of Nigerian migrants , I saw my parents dealing with countless issues trying to integrate in this Western system. It's so hard. I admire their strenght and resilience . Your story is important , keep sharing

I think this kind of work ethic that borders on self harm is so prominent with immigrants and people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Looking back now, as an immigrant, do you think you would have gotten as far as you have without that kind of work ethic? What would you advise your younger self?

It sucked but thank God you made it, it all worked out. Unfortunately though, its hard to survive in the world the west has created without a 9-5. Most peopel don't own anything that the only way to survive is by slaving themselves off to some corporations.

Thank you for sharing your story but please increase your volume since it is difficult 5o hear this video with or without headphones. The audio in part 1 was better. To share some of my story, around your age, I'm in Usa and first generation American from African family so can relate to the toxic corporate abd racist culture from black and white americans in Usa. But God is good. I don't like corportate Americavery much but since my job is jealthcare related, O like to think I'm helping society in a medocal fashion. I hope to retire early since I don't want to work until the main usa retirmenet age, 65.
