If she can double on a snowboard she should actually be really close to the top female snowboarders right? I mean most (all?) of them only have a single double in a slopestyle run. Of course whether or not she wants to compete is an entirely different issue.
I just came back to this video as I’m spending a lot of time trying to learn the back tuck. Every mistake you mentioned, I am doing. It’s resulting in terrible height and my feet are getting left behind so my rotation is too slow. Thank you for this video Jens. I’m going to get this!
this is a very good tutorial for any newcomer to the backflip to learn to be able to do it on a tramp (regardless of whether you’d ever want to do it on snow)
Thank you, I can do a backflip now! The scariest part for me is that my trampoline has nets that sag down so I am worried that I will jump to far back and my feet with catch the net, but I am to scared to take the nets off. (This happened once which is why I get nervous when doing a backflip). Do you have any tips for me?
As a gymnast i can tell you that is not exactly how we do a back flip lol, but i do trampoline gymnastics, so not quite the same So first, we tuck all in with hands on our shins, not knees. Second, we kick out into a straight position when you’re around straight body in the air.
IMO this requires some strength and some flexibility. Like can you sit with a 90 deg angle at hip? and can you really have strong enough abs to actually keep your legs to follow?
I’m in gymnastics and I’ve been in quarantine for 2 months so I don’t want to hurt myself when I do it again 😬😬 I can do a back tuck, I just want to do a back layout without hurting myself lol
I learnt how to do mine in minutes. I was doing some back hand springs on tramp. I started jumping before doing them and at one point I barely touches the ground. I kept trying to do that again and somehow I just landed it! It was on complete accident.
I am a lifelong skier and I still enjoy your videos for either perfecting of refreshing my skills... having said that I have never attempted a backflip ;) That video might tempt me!
Hi! I know you've mentioned you have a background in martial arts - so do I. Which means I side roll very instinctively, to protect the neck when someone dunks me into the ground and whatnot. HOW do you get rid of or disconnect that for the back roll and backflip? I mean just doing a normal forward roll completely straight is kind of hard because those are automated as well, but still a lot easier to "override" than when going backwards. I realize doing everything step by step as shown is a good method and so forth but as soon as a bit of fear kicks in, reflexes takes over you know.
In all sports, 'overriding' is just about repeated practices using the corrent technique. Doesn't matter if it's music, skiing or any other sport. Visualisation as well as watching others doing the correct technique has also been shown to be effective.
Well duh. I am not retarded you know. I wanted to know if he had any tip or trick etc to ease the progress as he comes from a similar background in terms of athletics.
