How to Background Remove from a scanned Document and make it White Background using Adobe Photoshop 

There is a reason why there are only 9 comments out of 57,168 views in the three years since this video was posted. Most people probably feel it is a kindness, rather than hurtful to leave critical comments. Like many people proficient with an application, Mr. Khan rapidly moved through steps, many of which were not discernible to those most likely to need the content of the video. It would be helped by the simple act of adding captions to define the steps, and then using those captions as a supplement within the document. The only thing I, as a less than capable user of Photoshop gained from this video is the hope that what I hoped to achieve was achievable. The strong video skills in the production of this video were lost in the lack of comprehensibility to the novice user, who is the most likely audience for such a video. Faithful are the wounds of a friend.

It is simpler to convert to grayscale, back to RGB mode, and use overlay to remove a background. You can use others but overlay seems easiest to get rid of backgrounds of less than 50% grey. A bit more difficult is the image is needed to be in colour

Please don't use the ERASER tool ;(((( ALMOST ALWAYS use the mask layer + white or black brush to add or remove especially with a document like this where critical data could be lost. Eraser = delete. Mask means hide, or show.
