FULL RECIPE:
6 cups of flour
6 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup sugar
300g butter 🧈
1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoons of salt
3 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla essence
1 1/2 Amasi [sour cream]
Procedures
1. Preheat oven to 180C degrees. Grease 2 baking trays, set aside.
2. In a large bowl, sieve together flour, salt, baking soda, salt & baking powder. Add butter. Using your fingers, work the butter into flour mixture until crumbly mixture s formed (like breadcrumbs)
3. In a medium bowl, whisk 2 eggs, white sugar, vanilla essences, and milk. Add egg mixture to flour mixture and stir to combine.
4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured work surface; knead lightly and shape into a round. Roll dough out until it is 2,5cm thick. Using 7,5cm biscuit cutter/small glass,cut out scones and transfer to prepared baking trays.
5. In a small bowl, beat remaining egg and brush the top of each scone. Transfer baking trays to oven and bake until golden brown and cooked through 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer scones to a wire rack and let cool slightly before serving..
