To use activate the band lists created I believe you have to use the mobile app to select the band list. You can't just choose the band list through the gui of the 6500. Then you have to reboot the 6500 to get it to actually activate that band list.
This worked for me. I've been running into an issue when I'm connected to a VPN on my computer where my phone provider marks that data usage as hotspot data instead of regular cell data. I have a data cap on my hotspot data, so I want all traffic to appear as regular cell phone traffic. Do you know of any way to fix that?
Thank you so much. I used these instructions to repair imei on mr1100 to be able to use the at&t unlimited prepaid *phone* plan on my hotspot. Had to change the apn to "nxtgenphone" but it works perfectly after I repaired the imei w a old phone I had 🥰

Thanks for the video man, very helpful. Any other recommendations for people wanting to use a tablet data plan sim in a nighthawk? Is making the router IMEI match the tablets IMEI all you recommend? Are there any other steps to protect yourself from getting found out? Thanks in advance.
On the nighthawk there isn’t much you can do besides connecting it to a router that allows you to change TTL settings and manage your data try to stay below 400 GBs/month
You can't get more bands, you can only edit the band list to choose which bands the m1 uses and yes you have to pay for the IMEI edit (but you don't have to actually change your IMEI) in order to edit the band list
I'm getting my M1 this week and I got an unlimited plan that has unlimited data.. waiting for the SIM card :) I'll download the "other program" to do other things to allow my m1 new potential when they ask me the IMEI number when activating I gave an old iPhone I had laying around that I don't use anymore. So I need to match that same IMEI in the M1 using repair IMEI to the IMEI I used to activate service? How do I find out if the nighthawk is unlocked or not? And last questions that no one asks, can I repair/change an IMEI that has been already repaired or it can only be the original IMEI that can be repaired once? Thank you.
You can change the IMEI number as many times as you’d like on the same M1 once you pay the credits to do it the 1st time. And yes I would definitely match the IMEI to the device the service is activated on.
@@profitgee1 awesome 😎 thank you so much for replying back. You definitely won a subscriber and follower ! Is it easy unlocking a locked m1? And the simcard do we put it after repairing IMEI or after? Thanks
Thanks for the video,You would think dc unlockers would explain with tutorial videos how to use their site and add bands like you did,But they do not.I did a 815s repair on their site and it did not work and lost 29 credits,When asked on the live help about the issue,He never did say I would receive a refund for the 29 credits and never got back to me with a solution to their software problem. It made the start up interface dashboard page different than the netgear default page with overlapping numbers and letters and totally different format that the user could not change any settings,I had to do a factory reset which undone the repair.
I just purchased an unlocked mr1100 unit with the purple screen. Not sure on the difference between the blue and purple screens. It's not letting me connect to any LTE bands. I've tried multiple apn settings, only having success with one and it's only getting 3G or H/H+. Not really sure what to do at this point. Device is unlocked. Wondering if you have any idea what's causing this issue or if going in and adding bands or changing the IMEI to match an existing phone that I already have would fix the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated as I have a $250 paperweight at this point 🤣
Did try switching the sim card? If not I'd try to switch it with a post paid plan sim ( if you have one) if you trying to use a regular phone pre paid sim , many are blocked automatically from working in a hotspot or throttled to unusable speeds. Good luck!
I have an att locked nighthawk mr6110. It detects my visible sim and switches to verizon's apn automatically, but won't pick up the signal as it is carrier locked. Would switching the imei number to the imei of the phone the plan is for fix this? Or am i hardware locked to att with this device

@@DerBrandt no that's the point. That's why I recommend changing it while the data is off on the m1 The company sees the IMEI # and it matches the device the IMEI was assigned to whether its a phone , tablet, hotspot etc they can't tell that it's an M1 with an edited IMEI
Novice here. Verizon SIM wouldn’t work. I found out the M1 isn’t a “Verizon approved”device. Does this mean that I can turn my Nighthawk into a “phone” or “Verizon Orbic Speed” hotspot just by changing the IMEI number for them and then a Verizon SIM will work in it? Please tell me, “Yes!”
That’s exactly what changing the IMEI number is for! As long as you have hotspot data available on your SIM card you should be good to go, if not ymmv.
Mind blown. Can’t wait for my new SIM to get here. I didn’t want to have to buy their modem when I already have an unlocked M1 and external antenna. I’ll try the IMEI from the Orbic Speed I have. Wondering, though, is there somewhere one may obtain additional IMEI for other devices?Thank you so much!!
I'm guessing I dont need the IMEI edit on mine, I just want to add bands or adjust bands once i move to the Philippines later this year. They have different bands there and once i figure out the best band download speeds ill make edits... changing the IMEI would be used for like a plan in the USA that is a tablet plan and i want to make the tablets (imei) not be on the nighthawk? thanks... I just got my M1 so just starting out..
You’re right , editing the IMEI is for those that have a different device tied to their plan , editing the band list will be helpful to aim the M1 towards the bands you want to use, providing they are available where you choose to use the M1
@@profitgee1 thanks a lot. I definitely will be saving this video to help me in a few months. I noticed the firmware that’s on it now is 12.06.39.00 just reading some Reddit posts some are complaining about it. I’ll have to figure out best once I arrive. Just glad it’s unlocked already.
I’m not too versed in cable modems , if it’s coax then companies like Netgear and TPlink sell modem/ router combinations but if it’s fiber you may have to use Spectrums modem but you still may be able to attach your own router
Splendid video Berryman!! Couple of questions. I have an unlimited little hotspot. It is a coolpad and it sucks completely. This coolpad hotspot has a Sprint sim card in it. Can I buy the nighthawk and change the imei number to match the coolpad? If so, what then. Do I take the sim card out of the coolpad and put it in the Nighthawk? How do I do this? The Sprint plan I have is unlimited but since I live out in the woods, the DL speed is about 5mbps and up is 3mbps. Should I try and buy an unlocked Nighthawk. Throw me a bone Berry...I need help.
Randy Lopez wish I could be more help but the fact is I don’t know if you could use a sprint sim in the M1 ( now that T-Mobile bought sprint you just might be able to) because I know for sure T-Mobile Verizon and of course At&t sims will work in the M1 but sprint has a history of making folks use sprint hotspots for sprint service an alternative to the M1 could be the Mofi (which works with sprint sims ) or you could build your own device like I did ! Good luck brother!
@@profitgee1 Thanks Berryman. Look, I know you busy so just let me ask this. I have my ATT iphone with unlimited data. Would that work or you think they find out that I am using nighthawk?
I’ve only been able to determine the faster bands though trial and error but as a rule the higher frequency bands have faster download speeds than the lower ones. For example Band 4 @ 20Mhz will more likely have faster speeds than band 2 @ 10Mhz
I followed your video instruction expect for the IMEI part as I didn't have a new IMEI and just renewed the old one which it was but after adding my bands sadly it isn't connecting to any of them did I miss something or I have to change the IMEI any help, by the way, doing this from Saudia Arabia , any suggestions
@Mansor Khan no you don't have to change the imei # to edit bands assuming you edited them correctly select all LTE bands from the cellular menu and see which band you were connecting to before and make sure if you are trying to connect to new bands that they are available in your area. Also If you lock to verizon bands but have a Tmobile or At&t sim card you won't have any connection. Side note you're not adding bands these are the bands the M1 already has you're just creating lists to tell the nighthawk which bands to use ...Let me know if this helps
How goes it, Say would you happen to know that when you change the IMEI out, can you clone it to an different mobile hotspot's IMEI ? So icould take my sim outta my crappy franklin t9, and not get noticed when using it on the net work... swapping sims between the two devices will that raise any red flags?
@Angels and Aliens I’d be more concerned about hardware compatibility, make sure the device you want to switch to has a modem that can use your network and it’s bands. Changing the imei number can make it appear to the carrier that it’s the original hotspot but it won’t help it to work if the new hotspot is not compatible with SIM card

Barclay617 it all depends on the cell tower in some cases band 2 may be a 5 Mhz band and band 12 may be a 10 MHz ...if that’s the case band 12 may have the faster data speeds in other cases it may be flipped flopped where band 2 gives you better speed and connectivity...The channel bandwidth is what usually determines how fast the band is ... 20 MHz > 10 MHz , 10 Mhz > 5 MHz ..etc also the amount of traffic on a particular band will affect its performance. The best way to find out is to try each band separate and see which performs best
You can select any of the bands that the M1 modem has however, The broadband on the M1 will only work with the bands T-Mobile uses and will only connect to the available T-Mobile bands in your area.

But both are overpriced for the specs they offer in 2021 there are better options out there for cell routers now and mofi is about to release the mofi5500 so unless you find the 4500 sim 4 for $250 or less I wouldn’t recommend getting either one
Not necessarily but you may get better performance out of certain bands even if the signal is not improved and even if the signal is worse bands that have a wider frequency generally have better speeds

Hi 2 Questions...what is the benefit of changing the IMEI #? Where do I find a number? Is there a site that generates the number? I have Tmobile and I just want to get my NightHawk M1 to work again
The benefit of changing the imei # on the nighthawk is for it to match the same imei # on the phone or tablet that you may have activated your SIM card in to make it look like the SIM card is still in the phone/tablet to the carrier instead of in the nighthawk. As for it not working it may be that T-Mobile has stopped or throttled the data on your SIM card. Have you tried using a postpaid SIM card in your nighthawk?
Honestly this is the best and easiest step by step guide I've ever seen...now..how do I stop internet slowdown/throttling? Would a really good vpn do it alone? And can this website help change the TTL ? thanks man..
The only way i know of with the nighthawk is to attach a a router with either TTL settings or a VPN router to it. Give the attached router a static Wan IP address (matching the one the nighthawk assigns to it) and dont connect anything else to the nighthawk to avoid double nat hopefully that should do the trick

MikeTeddy you don’t have to flash any software just unlock the device from the carrier. In most cases if you contact the carrier (At&t) they will unlock the device for free or you can pay to get credits on DC unlocker and unlock the carrier with this app (3:48 in this video)

They sent me a new one but I am scared to install it because i dont want them to deactivate it again. How can I prevent this from happening?
Editing the imei number can possibly help to prevent the carrier from bricking the SIM card but there are no guarantees I’d also monitor data usage if I were you .....,AT&t is rapidly becoming the worse carrier in my opinion, their service is all over the place during the course of the day and they are quick to brick SIM cards even in this pandemic....shameful ! @Ben Lewis which version of dc unlocker are you using? I know at least one version was having issues but when I contacted the live support on the website they gave me a link to an older version that worked fine also I believe they fixed the problem with later versions released after the version (I think it eneded in 29) that had the issue
@ peak device It depends on few factors .....which carrier your using? Which bands are available in your area / tower? The signal strength and quality and the width of the bands will determine how fast your speed will be ......for example Verizon uses bands 2, 4, 13, and 66 but on your tower Verizon only has bands 4 and 13. If band 13 has a 10 MHz width and band 4 has a 20 MHz width , band 4 will give you faster speeds even if band 13 has better signal strength

When this happens I have log into the M1 and reboot it or manually power cycle it to get internet to be served to the devices that were not connected to VPN. Do you know how to fix this issue?
@TOO REAL unfortunately no im not sure why it's doing that. I use my M1 as a modem and have a router inbetween it and my devices with its own firewall settings. Do you use the Wi-Fi directly from your M1? If so how many devices do you have connected at one time ? You may want to consider using a router that can have a VPN on it connected to your m1 and connect all your devices to the router instead of the nighthawk
@@profitgee1 No sir, I don't use the WIFI on my M1 I have a router connected and all my devices are connected to the router. Trippy Racks well the good thing is it’s unlimited edits with the same modem so when you get it to see the modem again you won’t have to buy any more credits because I’ve done hard resets on the M1 and had to go back and re edit both the imei and the band lists good luck bro!
